Your first character

My first character was a 1st level elven militant wizard (2e wizard kit) named Trent the True. He only had 2 hp, and so every combat, he would get hit, and have to make a system shock. He died the first session, when a bugbear sliced him in half with a great axe... :(

Ah the Otus-Red Set! That is still my favorite D&D boxed set! Many hours of adventure in that box before you've exhausted it's possibilities! Sucky or not, props to you for having the stones to sieze the bull by the horns and DM as a raw newbie!

Thanky! I never regretted it.

1975 Wizard - Merlin
Photocopy of game for rules with a cousin at Thanksgiving. Continued to take down stairs in his massive dungeon and was eaten by a Purple Worm. Asked for the box set and Chainmail for Christmas...

Stall Lightfoot, an Elf from the D&D Basic Set (the red box). I had one spell--Charm Person--and I used it to build me an army of ogres since their low intelligence meant the spell lasted several weeks.

My first character was Gorgo "the lousy", a TN dwarf in a 90s reprint edition of OD&D. He survived the whole adventure we played with those first characters, but was constantly outshined but the other dwarf in the party (brother IIRC) who had much better stats.

1st Edition Paladin named Xavier. Dwelt in the city of Lankhmar (our DM at the time loved the setting and incorporated it into his homebrew world). Actually achieved double-digit levels (around 12th or 13th, I think) before an unfortunate encounter with a Ancient Red Dragon, which had predictably messy results.
Oh, the sweet memories. :D

First Basic D&D was a Lawful Fighter, 1st level. Played through Keep on the Borderland. :D

First AD&D 1e character was a Chaotic Good Elf Fighter/Mage. Forgotten Realms.

Simultaneously, played a Lawful Good Human Knight of the Crown (then Sword and Rose) in a 1e Dragonlance game.

All three names elude me today (that's what folders are for ;) )

I think my first character was a 2nd edition monk/ninja or something similar because she was oriental adventures. it was like ten years ago I barely remember. although I know her name was leta, I liked sailor moon at the time but that character eventually became on of my constant characters Callisto.

OD&D 1977 - I had three characters as I was initially the only player with my older brother DMing. A Human Ftr, Elf MU/Ftr and Human Cleric - Agrippa, Theo and Eskel by name, though I can't remember if the names and PCs are in the same order. They survived to about 6-7th level and built a stronghold. Don't remember many after that.

3e - only character I've used is a pre-gen from Necromancer Games Wizard's Amulet Drebb the dwarf, and for 3.5 I only have NPCs as I'm DMing.
