The Mentzer D&D set was my first experience, but I had borrowed it from my cousin. This was my first purchase, made with that sweet, sweet paper route money.

This was the first D&D product I ever owned (image stolen from BoardGameGeek).

I would soon also own a Mentzer Red Box, but completely failed to get into it with friends. WEG Star Wars would go on to be my first real RPG experience. But before all that, I had this board game.

Good lord. There are more years between today and the release of Marvel Superheroes than there was between the creation of those superheroes and the publication of the game. Judging from a lot of photos in this thread, I'd say a lot of us are ready for bifocals.

It was a store in Ketchikan Alaska.

I've heard mixed things about that store over the years...

After hearing about the satanic dangers, my friends and I all vowed to buy Dungeons and Dragons. I had actually already played the Dungeon! board game (I have that too, but it’s in deeper storage), and knowing it was from the same company made it all the more tempting.

I don’t have the box anymore, but I still have the rule book, module, and color-me-in dice.

My first second and third TTRPG purchases were the 1E Players Handbook, Monster Manual and DM Guide.

My fourth and fifth purchases were TSR's Star Frontiers and SF Knight Hawks.
