Your Homepage: News Page or Messageboard?

I have a blank page set as my IE starting page.

My EN World bookmark leads to the message boards.

I have a link to it on my homepage, which points to the main news page.

I've considered writing a homepage for myself several times - but my backlog of coding work is so long now I never seem to get around to it. Oh well, for now it's linked to the news page. There's a hidden link from there straight to the hidden staff page which I check second to make sure no issues are on the machine. Then it's mail and off to the WotC boards to check for tech issues there. Afterwards NTL.

EDIT: By the way folks, I'm considering some changes to the news page to make it more customizable, and therefore more suited to homepages. What kinds of things would you like to see?

I'd love to see an RSS feed personally. For the rest I like it the way it is.

This should definitely have a thread of its own!

But since you ask, I'd love to be able to customise the right hand 'Latest Forum Topics' bar to show only forums I was interested in.

I go to the messageboards many times each day.
I don't go to the main page more than once per week.

My home page is either the corporate intranet portal (work) or google (home).

But during all my waking hours I have a browser open to the message boards.
Normally the General forum.
But I do go to the front page once a day to read it.

Ditto. I just don't understand the idea of having a homepage. I've got too many things I do on the web (ENWorld, NTL, 3 news sites, programming/development, programming newsgroups, my own gaming site, corporate pages, daily comics, etc.) to say "oh, I'm going to want page XXX when I start up IE." Always ends up annoying me.

I use the "Links" quick list, instead. And, yes, I do have a link to EN World.
