Your opinions on a monster book idea

Another "Aye" for B&W versions of all PDFs. Also in favor of graphics-free options. I buy them, and I like being able to print out select portions without using too much ink.

Didn't Natural 20 do this for a few of their products? Maybe Elements of Magic.

Don't we have enough Monster Books already?
The answer to this question is always "No."

Great ideas not only from SKR but from the others in this thread -- compile-able monster pages from multiple PDFs, size comparision charts, counter pages, themes, hooks... Yes, sir.

One of the best things about Monsternomicon was the adventure seeds attached to each entry. I love that stuff, it just gets my little brain whirling.

Including B&W extras for those that want 'em without raising prices for everyone else - certainly sounds good to me.

That said, I don't buy tons of monster books and agree with Kamikaze Midget...

I probably wouldn't buy it unless the monsters had a theme or hook that they could get me to use....

Say, they're all Psionic, or all designed for a specific environment, or with a theme in mind, or something.

Would you find it valuable if this 32-page PDF repeated the 30 monster pages with black & while illos & black & white counter illos, so those of you without color printers could print out a version of the book with clean line-art instead of possibly-indistinct grayscale images? Or would that annoy you?

I assume the core question is format-related and not content related. I think the option of printing out B&W would be awesome.

Monster book comment - I might buy a monster book if it included adventure seeds for each monster.

I love counters!

Being able to print B&W is good; having the illustrations both ways is a great idea! Not everyone is able to (or wants to) print in color. Having to print color illustrations in B&W results in bad pics, so I am all for it!
