Your perfect day?

Well trying to leave out the grandma no-no things here is a very simple and obtainable perfect day, but I should probably call this a Great Day instead of the Perfect Day:

Wake up around 9
Lay in bed with husband with mronign sunshine streaming in till about noon (:) that's one grandma friendly way to say it)
Have friends and family come over for cheesy dogs, brats, beer and girly drinks on the sunny 70 degree porch
As the sun sets the games come out (family fun games of course!)
As the next morning closes in, everyone leaves me and my husband with more relaxing cuddle time.

It may be simple, but whenever this happens, I wake up the next day and everything just seems better, calmer, and easier to deal with :)

Aside from some obvious choices, RPGing for example, here's one of my favorites:

-Buy a 24 pack or several 2-liter bottles of diet softdrinks
-Order pizza
-Sit back and watch either: an all-day sports event, or something from the DVD collection.

Wow, I feel so shallow now after reading these threads. :\ You can really tell who's married and who's not.

I'm married (separated very amicably, though) with a terrific 11 year old son. I love them both but the question is what my perfect day would be...lol...

Describe the perfect day. What time of year is it? What do you do? What happens around you? How do you feel? Have you had this perfect day, or is it something only in your imagination?

It's summertime, sunny and warm. I start the day with a cup of coffee and sit on my back deck. The flowers I planted have huge brightly-colored blooms and my dog is lying in a patch of sun. Later Andy (my boyfriend) and I take him to dog park, and he plays with dogs and chases a tennis ball around. I take my laptop to the local cafe afterwards and have a seat at one of the outdoor tables. Surly, my dog, sleeps by my feet as I drink a whole lot of coffee, eat a sandwich and write my novel. Andy sits next to me and reads comics and magazines. Occasionally, he reads me something interesting or funny. We sit there all afternoon and get home in time to fire up the grill and pick fresh tomatoes off the vine. My gaming group comes over and has burgers and beers during a really, really good game. We laugh a lot and stay up late.

I can't do everything I'd want to in a single day, so I'd have to go the "multiple categories of perfect day" route. Here's a few samples, though:
  • Sleeping in. Wake up around 9:30 or 10:00 AM. Me and the wife work-out. And then we "work out" if you know what I mean until mid-afternoon. Then, we pop out to the beach -- a nice South Seas beach where it's always warm, clear and clean. Like on Fiji or something. Lay around on the beach talking, holding hands and swimming. More "working out." A nice dinner in an open air restaurant of some kind of tropical music and palm trees and stuff right on the sand, or over the ocean on a jetty or something. A nice walk on the beach with a big fat moon and a bazillion stars. Then more "working out." :)
  • A day with the whole family at Disneyworld in early December, when there's nobody at the parks (relatively speaking) except us. Riding the scarier rides with my daughter so I can hold her hand when she's nervous.
  • Sleeping in 'til 9:30 or 10:00 (that's a constant, really) on a day when my wife's visiting her parents with the kids or something like that. Stumble out of bed and spend pretty much the whole day unshaved and in my underwear. Browse the Internet for a little while, work on my extremely slowly developing novel. I have loud music on all day except when I'm watching movies; I'll see two or three. I'll whip out some video games too, and play for a while. Finally get dressed, pick up some Taco Bell or a Pizza and have the gaming group come over for a night of gaming.

I'll post what my perfect day would be if it happened tomorrow. It's not so much a dream day as it is a day where things happen as good as they reasonably could.

I wake up at 7am to chat with my roommate before he heads to work, and I see him off. Despite being groggy, I take a jog and exercise for a bit, then come back, shower, and eat. I'm ready by 8am.

I sit down for 4 hours to write. By noon I have written ten pages of fiction.

At noon I take a break, check my email, and make myself lunch while I browse the boards and catch up on my friends here and elsewhere on the net. I decide what else I need to write, and at 1pm I get back to work, probably doing some E.N. Publishing work, or making a website to offer freelance writing.

At 4pm, my roommate gets back, and I pester him for a ride to the Emory astronomy event my girlfriend's working at. He balks, because he wants to stay in, so I have to walk the two miles to the university. Which will be fine.

But first, I write just a little more. I email Jake, Denise, and Russ - my E.N. Publishing co-workers - with some new ideas I have. I post something amusing on the boards, and then head out. The weather is gorgeous. It's cloudy, windy, and cool, the air full of that amusing pollen that turns cars in Atlanta a powdered yellow. I show up at Cat's dorm at 6pm, but she's not there, so I wander around the campus, and finally sit waiting on the roof of the astronomy building, jotting down ideas in a spiral notebook until the astronomy event starts.

I hold hands with Cat, but then I get a call from Denise, saying that something key is missing in the Chainmail Bikinis book, and it needs to be fixed now, so I have to part company with Cat to go use one of the library computers to fix the problem. While I'm there, I wave hi to my old supervisor at the library, and she tells me she couldn't reach me earlier in the day, but that I've got a job interview for a job there at the library.

I manage to restrain myself until I see Cat again, and that is when I do the happy dance. The astronomy event goes on without a hitch, the clouds having kindly parted for us, and in the wee hours of the night, Cat and I sit together, holding hands and watching weird movies with the astronomy staff. As the evening is ending, for a moment we're alone, and Cat gives me a kiss for good luck.

That would be pretty close to perfect for me. Just pleasure is no good. You've got to earn it. Now, I need to set my alarm. *grin*

Blessings to you all.

Oh, and at some point during the day, LaunchCast music on Yahoo! plays either Los Lobos's "Wicked Rain/Across 110th Street Medley" or "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood" from the Kill Bill soundtrack. I love those songs. *wink*

If I had words to make a day for you
I'd sing you a morning golden and new
I would make this day last for all time
Give you a night deep in moon shine.

Describe the perfect day.
It's an autumn day. I don't need go to work that day, neither the days that will follow. Yet, I have plenty of money on my bank account, so nothing to worry about. So, it's either autumn or the beginning of spring. I am in the country (not the city), warm in the bed and in the arms of a nice woman. Outside it's raining. But the window is opened because nothing is so cool as listening to the rain falling on a tree's foliage and on the house's tiles (while you are warm in the bed and nothing else to do). :) :) :)
