The problem with Nephilim is that there seems to be a lot of Homebrew DnD use of it as a celestial..

yeah Nephilim are specifically called out as children of bene elohim (sons of god) and mortal woman - so celestials, being giant size is an affect of their celestial nature not a defining trait.

However Goliath and his family who were more Humanoid Giants were known as Anakim, so I‘d use that term instead.

Jotun, that is pretty cool ! I like that and will pick it for now !

I use Jotnar as a name of a ”small giant” race in my homebrew. It’s basically the plural of Jotun.

If you want to go even more authentic nordic with the words, you could spell it Jötun/Jötnar
