Thanks for all the info and input, and sorry for the unclarity IcyCool. I know that when creating my own monster I can do as I wish, but I like to stick to the rules as much as possible. (It prevents players from bitching over-much about things I create, since they still fall in line with the rules.) Thanks all.

Just by the by, I kinda hate the Yugoloths as written... they're disgustingly weak. I'd reccomed taking a look here for Pants' excellent alternatives.

And to add to what Corsair said, the Monster Manual 3 has the most up to date stats for the Canoloth, Mezzoloth, Nycaloth, and Ultraloth. The Monster Manual 2 (be sure to check the update booklet and errata for it) has the Marraenoloth (Boatmen of the river Styx), Arcanoloth, and Yagnoloth. The fiend folio I think has the older version of the ones in the MM3, so you can probably ignore that one. The Manual of the Planes has the Piscoloth, and one other, I think. (I may have gotten Manual of the Planes and Fiend Folio mixed up.)

The NN3 updates the ones that were in the Manual of the Planes. The Fiend Folio is the one that has the Piscoloth and the Skeroloth. So yes, as you suspected, you mixed them up.

You should follow the rules for things like what size of HD an outsider has and how many skill points, feats, etc. However when it comes to class skills, the only rule is 'whatever skills are mentioned in the monster's description'. Since you are righting the description, you can do whatever you want, completely within the rules.

Eluvan - Thanks for the link, that is EXACTLY the type of thing I was looking for! Some of those yugoloths had some cool abilities/ideas that I will be using/incorporating for my baddie!

Glass - After reading through Pants' home-made conversions/creations/updates, I think that is just what I will be doing, I just needed some guidance, I think. Thanks for everything, and if anyone is interested, I will be posting my finished creation in the Creature Catalog within a couple weeks. (I hope to get lots of views, and maybe some replies/input too!)
