Zagig Spells

Turns out I have the Magic Items Compendium, so after checking last night, there are several Zagig/Zagyg magic items, but I don't own the spells book, so I can't validate there.

Zagyg's Spell Component Pouch; several different versions, but the most potent let you draw from it 7 times a day to get all the material components for a spell. I don't know if this made it into 3e or not.

Lest you think this is a trivial thing, back when this item was created, it cost you a 1,000 gp gem to cast Otiluke's Freezing Sphere, or a 100 gp ivory plaque and a special ink blend of black dragon's blood for Rary's Mnemonic Enhancer, or a pinch of granite and diamond dust, the latter from a 10,000 gp diamond, for Stoneskin.

I don't know of any 1e spells that bear the name of Zagig/Zagyg/Xagy/etc. Wild magic spells could certainly be appropriate for the Mad Archmage, too, so do please chime in with what you find Voadam!

Looked them up today in the 4th Wizard Spell Compendium, none under Zagyg or Xagyg. Xult and Zalath have spells but no Zagyg spells.

Thanks! I've always wanted to detail more spells for the various quasi-deities, and important gods and demi-gods; Zagyg's as good a place to start as any :D

There was an excellent series of articles in Dragon called 'Greyhawk Grimoires' round about the tail-end of second edition. IIRC, one of Zagig's spellbooks was described in this series. I can't remember what spells were in it though.

Maybe cause he's always adventuring, he didnt have the time to research / write up any new spells... or he just carried his scribbles on his person, and never bothered to share...

Dragon 270, actually (had to look through DragonDex). Zagig's Amusing Alteration, Zagig's Canned Laughter, and Zagig's Gender Shift, all to be found in Zagig's Comedicon.
