Zelekhut Anomalies

First Post
Hi!

I'm just preparing an encounter with a priest who has called an Inevitable [Zelekhut] (MM 1, p. 160) via the spell Call Zelekhut (Planar Handbook).

Some minor anomalies seem to confuse me:

  • 1. Why doesn't a zelekhut suffer attack roll penalties when fighting with two spiked chains?
  • 2. Why is a Large creature allowed to fight with two Large two-handed weapons without appropriate feats?
  • 3. Why doesn't it suffer the normal armor penalty on skill rolls because constructs normally don't get any kind of armor proficiency?
  • 4. What reach does a Large centaur-like creature have that's fighting with spiked chains? The listed reach is 10 feet. (Normally, a Large (long) creature has a natural reach oi only 5 feet.) Does it make now 20 feet with a spiked chain?
  • 5. Why isn't the minimum bonus [+1] for an otherwise enchanted magic weapon (i.e. shock) added to the attack/damage values?

If some of the answers or suggestions could be provided within the next hour, I'll be glad to adjust the MM entry. ;)

Kind regards

1) & 2) It looks like they use them similar to natural weapons.
3) Where did you get that from?
4) The listed reach is most probably *with* the spiked chains.

Ah, Thanee to the rescue! :D

1+2. OK! I can console myself with that answer.
3. MM Glossary (Construct)
4. OK! Makes sense!

Thanx
