Zero Edition Dungeoneering

It occurs to me that many newer players may be developing a curiosity about the roots of D&D with all the "old school" talk surrounding D&D Next, and would probably like to know about my Champions of ZED kickstarter project:

The funding drive ends tonight (saturday 16th), but beyond that you can use the posts and links as an opportunity to learn a little about the earlest style of gaming before certain directions were codified and D&D became much more narrowly defined.

As a conversation starter here, the thing about zero edition dungeoneering that may be of direct relevance in conversations about 5e development is the element of flexibility inherent in the rules, classes, and types of possible adventures.
