Portals

Heya gang

Word has reached my ears that some of you have become confused about the portals in the Tavern.

Specifically, some of you seem to think they have disappeared or been done away with.

This is not the case. They are present, are used every night by many different people and used by Siani often enough. They are carven heads and images that follow the wainscotting around the walls. They are in the description of the Tavern itself on the header in the CRT. The portals are there, as they have always been.

Hope that clears it up.

Lady Siani of Ford Keep, at the behest of Their Excellencies the Baron and Baroness Gellun, invites all to attend a Midsummer's Feast & Dance in the Banquet Hall above the Common Room of the Crossroads Tavern in Ford Keep. Masks are not required but definitely encouraged.
Lady Alyysssa has kindly consented to perform Handfasting for those couples who might desire to be bound together on this magical evening. The event is to begin after the evening meal and bell and run until there is no further interest or Lady Siani's guests can no longer tolerate the uproar.
Those wishing to be Handfast are asked to inform either Lady Ka'yn or Lady Siani, or any of the Tavern Staff of their desire such that the Lady Alyysssa can make appropriate arrangements.
Their Excellencies will be in attendance for at least part of the evening in order to greet their people and hear their petitions.

Greyhawk Journal

Greetings;

Some of you may have noticed the new displays in the bannerheads....to be specific, the Greyhawk Journal and the Greyhawk Calendar. Both are for your use in play. The Journal however, can go further. There's a link there such that if you have something to announce, post, or wish to do, you can make it known to me. That's anything IC. Weddings, adventurers for hire, what have you. Let me know, and it will show up on that page for everyone else to see. It is meant as a tool for your RP as well as a way for me to sort of bring the setting to life a bit more.

Calendar and Journal

Hiya gang

The Calendar and Journal for Greyhawk have been added to the CRT main pages. The links are on this page:

I'm still tinkering with both of these items. Also, the Journal is also for you all to spread rumors and news for your storylines. Sister Ivetta is the scribe to send them to (yes, I know, it's my email, but I'm the one that updates it all the time!) and there's a link for email on the page. If it isn't working, someone scream. At me, you know, as in tell me. Generic screams I have a hard time understanding.

The only caveat is that the Journal doesn't publish the goings on from other worlds than Oerth. That is, if it happened on Faerun, it won't appear. If, on the other hand, it happened to a person from Faerun who was on Oerth at the time, then it will indeed appear. Assuming I know about it of course.

Question!

I have recently made a character that has been put under the question of whether or not he would be allowed in the tavern. I fing him to be very humanoid or demi-human in my eyes. Mearly very short in stature, he is from a race known as Tarutaru. I am not sure if anyone has heard of this race but I will post a picture in referance so you may see what he looks like:


Now I myself wouldn't see any reason why a character like Yev would not be aloud, he isn't an animal, meaning a wild beast or any such. But I am just curious. ^_^

By appearances it's a demihuman of some sort, and therefore able to enter the Tavern. However, no such race exists on Oerth and so the character is a visitor to the world and in all likelyhood the only member of it's race present. So the only restriction is that the character must behave as a visitor to the world....basically, it's deities aren't there, it's culture isn't there, it has no frame of reference for much of what passes and so is rather ignorant of things.

See if you can play that out and it'll make it richer. Oerth isn't for people to create whatever new race they want whole cloth. A character like this one is unique and would be best played as such.

That is, currently, how I see it. Further information and observances may in fact change it. But a chance should be given for the character to play.
