[sblock=Fragsie] :D Thanks for playing along! That's an awesome reaction from the patrons of the bar! [/sblock]

[sblock]No probs, I can see Mikara throwing up plenty of opportunities for people to run and scream! :p[/sblock]

Skalisss and Brother Shane very quickly learn that Maraz is in fact the name that those from the Savage Lands give to Maros; the god of war.
There is a small temple devoted to him not far from the Chapel of the Obolus, a Lautonian priest informs you that it is not a very rich or popular temple because Maros is not a reliable god, he is known to thrive in battle, and often grants just as many boons to his follower's enemies as he does to those who pray to him. Only a few of the older guardsmen and warriors visit the temple regularly.
They are told how there were once hundreds of shrines in and about Daunton and the surrounding countryside when it was just an outpost and farming community, but many of them have been lost or abandoned since it became a city.

[sblock=Fragsie only]"I have done what you ask. Mikara is here with me, and some creatures with great physical strength have gone missing. We are now searching out a shrine to someone named Maraz? He was supposed to give these Minotaurs strength. Instead, they have gone missing, not heard from for too long. We are searching around for answers to where this shrine may be.

Also, this Mikara seems one dangerous girl. Do I need to keep a close eye on her? She seems to be able to jump around from place to place without being seen, which makes keeping an eye on her very difficult."

After hearing the response, Ceryx holds two fingers to his chest and stands up from the table.[/sblock]

Ceryx gets up from the table and heads for the door of the tavern. "Thanks for the ale and the info." And with that, Ceryx heads back towards the Turtledome, ready to tell the party about the possiblility that the farming community outside of Daunton is likely place to begin our physical search for the shrine.

[sblock=Ceryx Only]"You have done well, the Church is pleased with how quickly you have inserted yourself into this problem. If you find these minotaurs and they are incapacitated, look for ancient markings on their bodies. If there are none, then we can breathe a sigh of relief for what we fear has not yet come to pass, if however there are ancient runes upon them, tread carefully; for we would all be at risk.

As for the drow girl, you need not scrutinise her every move, so long as we know roughly where she is. More important to us is to discover whether or not she was indeed responsible for the assassination of a certain Lord in her home country; if you can gain her trust you can perhaps find out the truth of the matter.

I must leave you now, and I may not be able to contact you for a few days; I have been tasked to investigate from a different angle, if I find anything that could be of use to you, I will find you out.
" The elven woman pats your hand fondly then stands up to leave, pulling her hood and cape closely around her.[/sblock]

After your various excursions, the party regroups at the edge of the harbour where you had split, discussing what each of you have discovered there are a number of possible avenues of investigation open to you. The shrine you are searching for is in fact a shrine to the god Maros, and that it is likely to be located in an older part of Daunton, or in the outlying countryside. With a more recognisable name to go on, chances are that someone will be able to give you more accurate directions.

[sblock=OOC] Another round of checks for this segment, don't forget that you can use skills other than streetwise (I'm surprised none has thought to use Religion yet), you just don't get the +2. you're not far off a total victory already![/sblock]

[SBLOCK=OOC]Unfortunately Skalisss' Religion mod isn't any higher than Streetwise, even though it is trained. So the +2 comes into play... ;) [/SBLOCK]

"We could easssily asssk around in the old part of the city, it is bessst to do that firssst while we are here even if we jussst have to leave anywaysss" suggests Skalisss.

With less than thirty minutes left before they were to meet back up, Mikara decided to meet back up with the others in the group. Spotting Skalisss, Mikara shadow jumps through the crowd until he was within arms reach. Walking loudly, she alerted the dragonborn to her presence before tapping him on the arm.

"A kind gentlemen in the inn over there pointed us towards the older sections of Daunton. He said he'd never heard of Maraz before. You learn anything more than that?"

Walking 'loud' by Mikara's standards is still barely perceptable to Skalisss and Brother Shane, only years of monastic training keeps them from jumping when she suddenly appears.

"Oh, it isss you Mikara" responds Skalisss. "Yesss, we found that thisss god isss known asss Marosss to thossse from the Sssavage Landsss. There isss a sssmall temple devoted to him not far from the Chapel of the Obolusss. We ssshould find the othersss and perhapsss sssearch the old part of the city firssst."

Mikara, not having any idea what an Obolus was, but understanding enough to know that they did need to search in the old part of the city (the now far-more-testicularly-sensitive man in the inn having informed her of such) nodded to the dragonborn.

"I agree. Should we round them up ourselves, or wait here for them?"

[sblock=OOC]We seem to have hit a lull, and while I'm itching to go and get through this challenge, at the same time Andrec isn't going to be too much longer in his HUGE fight over in 6 Eagle Down and the easiest point to add him into the party will be after this round of skill checks.
Some of you don't seem to be posting that often, is that just because you don't get on the forums that often, are you waiting for combat (more of a tactician than an RPer), or is there something more I could be doing to engage your characters?[/sblock]

[sblock=OOC]Growl has one social skill - Insight - and I can't figure out how to apply it in this situation. I'm a bit stumped.[/sblock]
