EXT. DAY - ALLEY

Steven and Rory watch Sandra chew her lip, debating what to say.

SANDRA
I... I don't know if you'd believe me.​

A pause. Shuffling of feet. Staring at said feet included.

SANDRA
You should probably keep clear of this one, Steven. And your friend too.
I couldn't get a good look in the dark, but I thought I saw... like... uh...
a werewolf? Maybe... maybe two?​

Her gaze is at her feet, although her eyes look up shyly, daring to hope for belief in her tale.

CUT TO:​

INT. DAY - RAYCHEL'S HOSPITAL ROOM

Juno kips up after crashing into the cart, and Gavin is trying to wave down both her and Joanie. Two security guards are rushing down the hall towards the commotion.

JOANIE
Save the speech. You're the one who followed me, remember?​

She spits out a short word - Chinese? - and then a slight light slithers up her arms. For a brief moment her fists look like stone.

A quick step, and then she jumps forward, snapping her heeled boot at Juno's chest.

OOC: Although I didn't do so for the surprise attack, usually Unisystem has players roll both attacks and defenses, so Shayuri, you can roll Juno's defense against the attack. You sound like full defense while moving backwards, so you're looking for a Dex + Kung Fu +3 vs 13; failure causes you 18 damage.

CUT TO:​

INT. DAY - UNIVERSITY HALLWAY

Paul scrambles down the hallway, occasionally tossing looks back at Rechard and Dafydd. Bystanders are collided with, and hastily shoved out of the way.

PAUL
Please... no...
(huffing... possibly some puffing)
You don't understand...
(pause... breath gasping)
He'll know if I talk!​

OOC: He doesn't have much of a lead on the two pursuers. Go with a Con + Sports to see if you've got the stamina to catch him.

"Well be lucky," Dafydd blurts out as he runs after Paul desperately, "if we can catch him at this rate. If I get left behind, I'll go back to the computer center and see if I can find out where he is staying."

 

[DrZombie]

“Werewolves. I thought I smelled something.“ Steven mutters, then looks at Sandra.” Whoa, what do you mean I think I saw.. You were here? You didn’t get bit did you?”
He shakes his head wearily. “Wait a minute. YOU are telling ME I should stay clear? Sandra, what have you gotten yourself into?”

"Followed, yes. Do you try to splatter everyone who walks behind you on the sidewalk?" Gavin says as Joanie takes another swing at Juno.

"Fine. You want to keep hurting her, I'll just have to clean up afterward," Gavin adds with a sigh. He taps Juno's shoulder and bites his lip. No need to overshare on the secondary benefit he himself was receiving...

(OOC - Cor! Please do not destroy me. I am looking at my sheet, but I somehow failed to note how the dice mechanics work for this system. I have Dex of 6 and Kung Fu of 4 (I think), but I don't know how to roll them. Tell me this, and I will edit this very post with the roll and its results, we swears it! We swears it!)

Juno catches the kick in both hands, having been ready for exactly such a move this time.

"Yeah, I don't think so. You had your freebie."

Still holding the other 'slayer's foot, she steps inside her guard and tries to put her on the ground by hooking her other foot out from under her, then pin her down by falling on top of her. The goal wasn't so much to do damage as to keep the other girl from ripping up the place, or endangering the witness.

OOC: No destruction necessary. Rolling is pretty straight forward; usually d10 + attribute + skill (+ plus any other modifiers) and hope to get over 9 (or higher in opposed tests like combat; 13 in this case). Particular to combat, there are a lot of different combat maneuvers which offer modifiers to the roll as well as to base damage; instead of typing them all out, it's probably easier to describe what you want to do, and then I can tell you the modifiers. Of course, knowing me, I'll probably type them all up at some point...

OOC: Bah! Sorry, been busy and haven't gotten to check in here in a while and the 'subscribe to thread' doesn't trigger on edits. Shayuri, Juno's takedown attempt needs a Strength + Kung Fu roll vs Joanie's 15. I'll hold off on the happenings in the hospital until I see it, but in the meantime...

INT. DAY - MAIN EXIT OF COMPUTER CENTER

Paul is only a few feet ahead of Rechard and Dafydd, all rushing through the small throng of students in the lobby. Paul is throwing several glances behind to check his pursuers' progress.

Thus, he doesn't see the door open in towards him.

Speed + door = crash.

PAUL
Owww... Son of a -​

He rolls into a sitting position as Dafydd and Rechard catch up, and the fear is evident on his face.

PAUL
Please... no...
(whispering)
He'll know...

RANDOM STUDENT (background)
Someone call security!​

CUT TO:​

EXT. DAY - ALLEY

Steven is looking with concern at Sandra, while Rory watches.

SANDRA
Here? No... no, I was at home. I was looking out my window, and I saw... something.
It was running - leaping - across the rooftops. I -​

ANGLE: THE ALLEY ENTRANCE

Three university girls walk by; one waves to Sandra.

DEIRDRE
Sandra! You missed supper!
(pause to look at Steven and Rory)
(slight frown)
What are you doing?

SANDRA
Nothing... Nothing, just saying hi.​

She takes a few steps away to join the girls.

SANDRA
Look Steven, just be careful.
I'll... I'll call you later.
(beat)
For our run.​

She starts walking away with the girls, but glances back with some concern.

 

[Systole]

"No, no ... Security will not be necessary. The young man is having a slight panic attack over a deadline for a paper. Better he calms down rather than spends hours filling out forms, yes?" He holds out a hand to help the young man to his feet. "Come along, Paul. Have some cocoa, and I guarantee we can make your problem ... go away."

 

[DrZombie]

SANDRA
Look Steven, just be careful.
I'll... I'll call you later.
(beat)

Steven waits untill they passed, then looks at Rory.

"Werewolves, huh."

"It's too light now. Do you wanna come back and search the roof when it's dark? Might even meet a werewolf."
