Hi there and thanks for answering questions!

Q: Can you further enhance or create magical items with extra enhancement like, for example, creating a +1 or +3 animated shield, or a +2 flame tongue, etc? or these items cannot be changed?

Also, to weigh in on the +3 items making people invulnerable, I have a paladin in my group that has a +1 sword. It's a legendary item I created that every time he crits on initiative, the sword gets a bonus. This way it's not like I gave a level 6 guy a +3 sword. The level ups are...

1. add proficiency to initiative.
2. +2 sword
3. double proficiency to initiative
4. +3 sword
5. May add +3 to AC against non-magical projectiles

I also accept this sword will probably define the character over time.

I am also aware, that as a +1 sword, his character is much more powerful.

Also someone upthread mentioned +X items didn't need attunement unless they had other powers, but I am pretty sure all +2 and +3 items do have other powers, and do require attunement.
Basic Armor +3 and Weapon +3 without any special abilities (and no attunement required) are listed as items in the DM's Basic Rules PDF.

And Ammunition +3 is shown in the Wondrous Items DMG preview.

Are there examples on creating subclasses? Even if it's advice like "For an Inquisitor Rogue, start with Arcane Trickster replace arcane spells with divine spells, and some arcane trickster talents with Cleric or Paladin features"?

Any chance of him or anyone else with it coming back? Did we scare them away?

can we not make the +3 argument nonsense in another thread?
I know on a couple of occasions I had a scoop I started sharing on these boards. Once extended arguments broke out, I stopped trying to answer other peoples questions and started just reading what I had for my own benefit. I'll still post a scoop if I have one, but I don't hang around for the argument.

1. Ummm, it added straight to AC in 4E too and...
2. Who the heck would have worn magic armor in Basic, 1E and 2E? Worst. Magic. Ever.

1. Nah bro, you're thinking of a completely different 4e! Unless I'm mis-remembering it (which I might be because I'm suuuuuuuper young and never played dnd before), 4e didnt have shield+x, they just had +1 or +2 AC from the shield and a funky ability.

2. Lolz, lots of people wore armor in those games because it was totally choice dude! You could look cool AND you got mucho protection! Of course, I've never played those games so I wouldn't know.
