Hopefully not like that. They scratched McDowell's corneas doing that scene.

We are going to see both films as a double feature. We will all be wearing pink.

My anticipation is that Oppenheimer will be the "better" movie but that Barbie will be much more enjoyable.

Left to my own devices, I would just go see Barbie.

Hilarious. As I said I don't think there woukd normally be a large crossover between the two films. It's either blown up online or the narrating campaigns for both movies are pure genius.

Seems organic to me and the studios are going with it.

Someone in marketing deserves a bonus for Barbenheimer. Who knew a bubblegum pop movie overlaps with developing and dropping nukes on people.

Genius or happenstance you decide!.

The hell is this?! THIS is what we get in the middle of blockbuster season this year? I shudder to think what the Oscarbation will look like come winter!

Normally I'd avoid both, but if I had to choose one, the choice would be clear: Oppenheimer. A long ass biopic isn't my movie of choice, and having Nolan behind it makes it worse given how ponderous his oeuvre is. I have one question for him: "Why so serious?" This is the sort of thing that usually lurches into theaters at the end of the year. But when the alternative is the terminally diabetically cloying Barbie...well there's no choice at all. Pink mushroom clouds indeed.

Barbie, for my wife’s 42nd birthday. She’s made Barbie shirts for our girls and her friends, and a pink Ken shirt for me, all based on the designs of the figures.

You should have put your foot down and insisted on G.I Joe.

someone made this on the mem section of reddit and how i wish it were real

Ugh, what's wrong with them!? Given the utter shamelessness of Hollywood, the last thing we need to do is give them ideas of how to burrow even deeper into the gutter. This is so wrong on so many levels I can't even begin to describe it.

I'd honestly suggest giving Barbie a chance and try to look at it without prejudice. Greta Gerwig is a genuinely good director who does not do vapid, consumer culture films, and she's clearly going to deconstruct what Barbie means and use all the saccharine coating to flip the script. We might be surprised!
