Bud Fox : Why do you have to wreck this company...That confirms what I thought when my youngest told me that it was led by a former EA CEO. I immediately thought of Riccitello, the man who killed Pandemic and made BioWare mediocre in released games (IMO).
It's nit like they have anything like a monopoly here.Yikes! Why would anyone use unity if they can avoid it going forward?
My brother is a hobbyist game developer and is immediately dropping Unity, in the same way lots of folks dropped 5E after the OGL 2.0 kerfuffle.Yikes! Why would anyone use unity if they can avoid it going forward?
Yeah, this is much worse and sillier than the OGL 2.0 even, and likely to end much worse for Unity than that ended for WotC.My brother is a hobbyist game developer and is immediately dropping Unity, in the same way lots of folks dropped 5E after the OGL 2.0 kerfuffle.
No small-time developer can take the risk that a single script kiddie takes them as an install target. However those installs get communicated to Unity HQ, which doesn't even really matter, because Unity can just declare that you owe them X amount of money because trust us bro.My brother is a hobbyist game developer and is immediately dropping Unity, in the same way lots of folks dropped 5E after the OGL 2.0 kerfuffle.
You're assuming that greed and incompetence go hand-in-hand. He could well be extremely competent, Machiavellian, and greedy. How do these incompetent, greedy CEOs keep getting hired?
