Update: As of Sept. 10th of this year Riccitiello reportedly owned over 3 million shares of Unity, with an estimated worth of more than $128 million. So this isn't a mass sell-off, but the numbers are somewhat significant.

My brother is a hobbyist game developer and is immediately dropping Unity, in the same way lots of folks dropped 5E after the OGL 2.0 kerfuffle.
No small-time developer can take the risk that a single script kiddie takes them as an install target. However those installs get communicated to Unity HQ, which doesn't even really matter, because Unity can just declare that you owe them X amount of money because trust us bro.

I'd personally already moved on from Unity when UE5 came out... but Godot interest has really taken a leap up now.

A Redditor caught some further shadiness from Unity; apparently a license change tracker was removed, and terms of service "silently" edited by Unity earlier this year. The commenter speculates that Unity is keeping the door open to more abrupt changes to the license in the future.
