That seems to be Y'shtola, the best NPC from Final Fantasy XIV, so not anime, though it is Japanese.
But protective force bubble certainly is pretty ubiquitous visual, and I doubt it originated from anime.
Ok, so we have a problem with her staff and spellbook floating because there’s no spell for that in the book, but her having glasses is unrealistic because magic could fix it? Last I checked, “Leomund’s Lasic Surgery” isn’t in the book either.I wear glasses at times (night driving, mostly), but I just find them odd on D&D adventures, mostly because magic would fix any vision issues, right? So, a PC as "powerful" as this one "seems" to be, it just strikes me as strange.
honestly, it is the colour choice, I have been programmed for years for white and gold to look holy whilst I associate wizardry with blueish or purple colours.
change the clothing colour and put a cool hat on her and she would look arch magey.
I can see the appeal of a gritter and practical down-to-earth mage art, contrast helps with these things.
Write the spell, queen, and I will use it.Ok, so we have a problem with her staff and spellbook floating because there’s no spell for that in the book, but her having glasses is unrealistic because magic could fix it? Last I checked, “Leomund’s Lasic Surgery” isn’t in the book either.
Exactly. “Protective shield or bubble” is not exclusive to anime. That seems to be Y'shtola, the best NPC from Final Fantasy XIV, so not anime, though it is Japanese.
But protective force bubble certainly is pretty ubiquitous visual, and I doubt it originated from anime.
Not a disease, but nearsightedness and farsightedness are disabilities. We just don’t often think of them that way, because we have thoroughly normalized the accommodations people with those disabilities require to function in society.Depends on how you define needing glasses. Is it really a disease to be cured?
Have you not also seen 1000s of pictures of old dudes with long white beards, blue robes, and pointy hats?that probably works too
It's the whole genericness and superhero style to me, it's just bland and boring, I've seen too many pictures like this, probably 1000s, so it just is not interesting
Oh, har-har-hardy-har-har.Ok, so we have a problem with her staff and spellbook floating because there’s no spell for that in the book, but her having glasses is unrealistic because magic could fix it? Last I checked, “Leomund’s Lasic Surgery” isn’t in the book either.
You’re one of those people that doesn’t think that people with disabilities can exist in fantasy worlds, aren’t you?Oh, har-har-hardy-har-har.
Yeah, read the rest. Lesser Restoration would cover it IMO. If you want to have bespectacled PCs wandering around, your choice.
No, not at all. Did I ever say that or imply it? No, I didn't. Frankly, I don't appreciate people implying that I have. Read my posts. You’re one of those people that doesn’t think that people with disabilities can exist in fantasy worlds, aren’t you?
