Survival: a suitable goal unto itself?

Shouldn't the uncanny dodges simply cause the appropriate class levels to stack with each other for the purpose of improved uncanny dodge?

    Sensory Feats

Yeah, but he's in a Midnight campaign, where the ranger-equivalent doesn't get Endurance. So Endurance is basically worthless to him except as a prereq.

Playable character without magic items: possible ?

I forgot something: the Puritan prestige class. Only for LN, highly religious chars. It's in Ultimate Prestige Classes, vol. 1, Mongoose Publishing. It grants SR, the ability to sense magic, DR penetration, and some dispel magic abilities. It's also a no-magic-whatsoever class, but it is an...

Two Weapon Fighting and Rapid Shot.

I'd say 3, and the -4 penalty sounds right. As for suggestions, there is the Master Thrower prestige class in Complete Warrior.

    Sensory Feats

Plus in theory, your DM might just give you the full active spot/listen rather than using the passive bonuses if you have Quick Reconnoiter; that'll make detection easier. Improved Initiative or Danger Sense come to mind if you like the idea of having super-fast reactions.

    Shield-related feats question

I've got two questions regarding feats that effect shield AC: Can you use the Improved Shield Bash and Two-Weapon Defense feats together to increase your shield AC while shield bashing? What shield bonuses can apply with the Parrying Shield feat from Lords of Madness? Is it the base shield...

Playable character without magic items: possible ?

Things like the Forsaker class, special weapon/armor materials, spellcasting power components (if a spellcaster), alchemical items and weapons enhancements (like Magic of Eberron's Alchemy Blade), the Trophy Collector feat (PHB2; grants some bonuses, takes up magic item slots that aren't going...

    Nonlethal damage

One idea that pops to mind here is convert every 5 or 10 points or so of nonlethal damage into lethal damage, including before you're knocked out. Whaddaya think?

    A generalist wizard feat

Perhaps a generalist caster level instead of a spellcraft? Otherwise, a specialist or sorceror who takes one level as a generalist could theoretically buy this, unless it only counts for wizard generalist spells, in which case it just wouldn't help him much. Also, maybe you should up it, say...

    Transmutational Healing

Has anyone ever tried to figure out how to work a spell that essentially allows a caster to attempt to knit the flesh back together with a Heal and a Knowledge (Biology) check? I'm thinking the Heal check DC should be based off of the HP to be healed with this casting (the max being limited...

    Redefining Schools of Magic

One problem that comes to mind to me, with regards to Divination: What about prolonged, short-term precognition? Say, a spell that lets you see 1/2 (or 1/10) of a second into the future, and works for several minutes/rounds? Shouldn't that have an effect on AC? Or would it fall into a different...

    D&D 3E/3.5 [3.5] - Looking for a feat

I think I saw one somewhere that was something like this: Attack Panache [General] Requirements: Cha 13+ Benefit: Your confidence and panache allow you to use your Cha modifier in place of your Str modifier for melee damage rolls. This may be used with any finessable weapon, and this may not be...

    Balancing charisma-based divine casters

Make Force of Personality a default - whichever is higher decides your Will saves, no feat required. Then, go and say that good clerics are expected by their good dieties (or the good cosmic forces) to use nonviolent methods whenever possible (i.e., encourage Vow of Nonviolence/Peace and the...

What are some other good non-d20 fantasy systems

One game system I want to try is Feng Shui. Unfortunately that'll have to wait as I'm currently stuck in a 1st/2nd ed group that gets annoyed at 3.5 rules references and avoids it for just about everything, rarely looking at it for references for stuff if they don't have an earlier text in...

    Technology and magic

One setting that comes to mind: Arcanum. Yeah, it's a video game, but it has magic and 19th century tech combined into one world. There's 3 human kingdoms, plus an elven kingdom and some dwarven clans. The humans use both magic and tech, one kingdom supposedly specializing in each with another...
