If you are looking at getting them on PDF, I'd recommend staying away from Battlecorps for the purchase. You're much better off getting them at DTRPG.com instead. At DTRPG you get download links that don't expire and if you happen to miss an update to the PDF, you can grab it at your leisure...

World-changing events. It's fine to have them be a potential outcome (a la Second Darkness if the PCs were to fail), but I certainly don't want to see an official "BTW we just blew up (insert nation/diety) because (insert lame reason here)"...

Pretty much same for my group, I have a 4' x 8' sheet of melamine board, scored with a one inch grid. Great for quick battlemaps, plus I can write all over it, so monster HP, stat penalties, initiative all get recorded on it somewhere.
I picked up a couple of the combat tiers awhile back and used them in my last AoW campaign session. Overall my impression is.... meh.

I don't buy the 10:1 number at all. I'd think the ratio would be a lot higher, more on the order of 50:1 or 100:1. Although, who knows, maybe WotC has some secret way of tracking usenet downloads....
Maybe they could install an application to format your computer after you're done reading their PDF too.
Or they could do what they have already done, stop publishing PDFs. Which is functionally the equivilent of all the above listed restrictions.
