    Modrons!

Magic! ;-) I imagine them to be rebuild from the parts... I thought it is rather odd that both duodrons and quadrons consist of four monodrons...

    Modrons!

I really like the idea of modrons trying to collapse portals. Thats just a fun way to bring them into the game. They allways seemed more like "random encounter" material to me. The players running for their live to get to the portal out of the Elemental Chaos and into the Prime will be rather...

    Another solid article - Strongholds

Yep. We use the rarity rules in our games and basically the effect is you start spending the money elsewhere once you are done "leveling" your 3 main items... mounts are currently rather popular as show of objects :)

    Another solid article - Strongholds

I agree, the mechanics seem a little 'tame'. As a group well love spending gold for stuff like this and we would use it anyway, I guess they decided not to intoduce Strongholds into the Optimization Game... though the 'Arcana Unearthed' category should prevent that anyways.

    Another solid article - Strongholds

Wow, I love this articel! A stronghold system that is actually usable without too much hassle. And I would not consider it 'crunch-light'. It is more or less what a chapter in an AV would provide about a new Item type. There are plenty of rooms you can buy and upgrade. I do not see what is...

    D&D 4E Converting Adventures to 4e

I just finished running the first chapter of Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil in 4e. The conversion did not take me long, but I would agree, it was not a strait forward conversion. It helps alot to figure out the level the adventure would run at in 4e. Otherwise you have to change the...

Rage (barbarian) and Guardian Form (warden) at the same time

my 11th level Wildblood Warden was a MC Barbarian (with another defender in the group I was concentrating on striker and controller powers). I swapped the 5th level daily for a rage. It was nice to be able to stack these powers, but usually I did not do that unless the battle was a desperate...

    Modrons Look Funny?

I actually prefere silly pictures for silly creatures :D Ever since 3e's dungeon punk style there was a disconnect between the picture of a creature and the mental image (my) descriptions invoked. Demogorgon is cool... but describing him without anyone at the table grinning might only work if...

    Best RPG buys of 2010?

For me: Rogue Trader & Into the Storm ... great books, great setting (I'm not a 40k fan, but love the RT setup.) D&D Essentials + MM3 ... reinvigorated my enthusiasm for D&D 4e Fiery Dragon Counter Collections ... my most useful purchase this year, I think.

    Dwarf Warden 2nd Winds

You are correct, only one second wind per encounter is a minor action. Dwarves are still the best wardens around, though, as the optional Wis bonus now opens up the other builds for them. When I build my warden, these were the options: The first core option to get another second wind is the...

    Monsters with mark immunity?

hmm, there are several monsters who have such an ability, but it is not a direct mark immunity, rather the monster can take a certain action that results in marks ending. The only newish (MM3+) one I have used is the Gnome Assassin from the Monster Vault who has a teleport ability with this...

WoW Cataclysm VS 4e Forgotten Realms

There is truth to that. Seems like they just forgot not all settings should be developed in the same way when they decided their 2 book rule.

WoW Cataclysm VS 4e Forgotten Realms

Yeah, I should have said "the best published P&P RPG Worlds" or something like that. I mostly agree with you. I personally keep changes done to the realms in my campaigns done by totally different groups of players over the course of editions. In 1363 DR a demonic incursion destroyed the...

WoW Cataclysm VS 4e Forgotten Realms

Thats what I suspected. I knew the Spellplague was done in an amateurish way without much consideration about what the setting is and has been before. I was not sure about what Blizzard did, but it seems like they would have even pleased P&P RPG players with their approach, because it is done...
