I'd say that the biggest difference is that the essentials classes don't have core class functions that require tracking. For instance, defenders don't have a mark to track in combat (which monster was combat challenged, which monster was divine challenged, and was that challenge engaged, etc)...

MV is soooooo worth it! The monsters are great, the fluff is amazing, the tokens are really useful, and the adventure is really really underrated. I love how the intro to it is just so...adventurous. I was drooling while reading it, basking in its adventurocity.

The Dungeon Master's Book does indeed seem like it's about to fall apart, but it hasn't actually done so yet. Strange thing though, my PHB *did* fall apart after my second day of reading it. I was just sitting there with it open in my lap in my car and the spine started rising and pages 1-92...

Just wanted to point out that dwarves have a Con/Str option or a Con/Wis option. They can't get Str/Wis.

Are these 4 new armors and 2 new weapons something we've already seen in other sources, or are they completely new with Essentials? What are they called?

I meant it in the most non-controversial way, but ruling that out as an option I'd have to change it to improved initiative. I tend to like the controllers, and the difference of +4 initiative on the first round can make a huge difference. Can I re-vote? :heh:

Weapon/Implement/Versatile expertise. Feat tax or not, DM freebie or not, I can't stand missing by 1. With this feat, missing by 1 happens 5% fewer times.
