Is this an effective "LFG" want ad?

Iis this better? Let's Play Pathfinder! Every Tuesday Evening, 6:30 PM - 10:30 PM The setting is generic so that players may take creative license over a portion of the world. This can be discussed and introduced to the world by the players when we have a better idea of what the group...

Is this an effective "LFG" want ad?

So, I am about to start a new tabletop group. I have never put up an ad like this before, and I really want to attract a group of people interested in the same thing I am. Can you read the ad, and let me know your opinions on it? What makes a good ad? What makes a bad ad?

    Kickstarter: Demons & Devils Miniatures

$15 seems like quite a bit of S&H.

When did Entitled become a bad word?

This subject is discussed at great length in the fantastic Debt: the first 5,000 Years. It is a book about what, and who, you owe your allegiance too, and what it means to be "entitled".

    Eclipse Phase Pregenerated Characters

That's good, but even if it were just Shadowrun with d100 it would still be worth it for the setting and metaplot.

    Eclipse Phase Pregenerated Characters

I have never heard that, and I have never played Shadowrun, but if what you're saying is true (and I have no reason to doubt you), that makes me disappointed. I was at the store, holding both Shadowrun and Eclipse Phase, anguishing over the decision!

    Eclipse Phase Pregenerated Characters

What pages are you talking about? The reference sheet in the back, near the character sheet? That's got a lot of rules that are nice, but what if you are running a game and you need to know how much damage eelware cyberclaws do? What does a character need to roll to avoid the effects of shock...

    Eclipse Phase Pregenerated Characters

Well right off the top of my head without the book in front of me, when a character takes damage greater than twice their wound threshold, they need to roll 1d100 under the sum of their somatic attribute and their coordination attribute. When a character is shot at, he can attempt to hide...

    Eclipse Phase Pregenerated Characters

I will tell you that one of the major mechanics of the game requires players perform basic arithmetic, and that the arithmetic depends on what exactly you're trying to do. Players who want a fast, simple, and clean system that's easy to learn should look elsewhere. If you want a deep and...

    Eclipse Phase Pregenerated Characters

I thought of that, and tried disabling layers, but not all the layers were labeled, a lot of the layers had vital stuff included, and it was a pretty inelegant solution. Someone with more PDF-fu could have figured out (and did), but not me. Thanks for the heads up! I'll be sure to go over the...

Anyone pick up the 3.5 reprints?

It may be silly, to be honest, but I do not see it as such. For me, OSR is a fecund ground for new publishers who love and understand the game to come in and put out great products. WoTC is, to my peyote-blasted mind, the corporate-owned megabeast hyperbolic that dominated the market from...

Gamescience dice are very much worth it.

I feel like you say that to be derisive about my decision, as though it were ridiculous. There is a lot of division in this hobby; that division is worthy of ridicule, my decision to buy his dice is not. Yes, he was certainly on the abrasive side. Unfortunately that's more and more what I expect...
