It does seem to have the most hilarious utility when put on a non-casting character. Giving the rogue a ring with, say, invisibility and fireball. Or just Cone of Cold. Or wall of stone. Or giving the Fighter leading the villagers against the horde of orcs the same ring with Cure Wounds, Mass on...

Well, one nice thing is that gold can't be used to buy or make magic items like it was in 3.5, so the worst case scenario is that PC's end up with a lot of disposable cash. This might be problematic sometimes - it makes for easy bribes, etc - but many enemies are going to be immune to bribes...

Correct! One thought, though. I have him as a shuttle pilot and EVA tech, but I only have the one prof in Outlander to convert to something else. I stuck with EVA, as I figure most folk can probably operate a standard shuttle, particularly with general piloting training. Does that fly?
