Phoenix, AZ - Looking for players!

I'm looking for a group at the moment but I don't know about the drive. Can you tell me any more about the setting you run? I assume that you use the system linked in your signature.

D&D 5E Taking a second look at attack bonuses

I think you're allowing your [perception of how things OUGHT to scale] to influence your [expectations of what direction WotC will take]. Assuming the status quo, your change would mean restatting a large number of monsters. It's not not an enormous burden, but it's one more obstacle to a DM...

D&D 5E Time to switch from Wis to Cha for representing Willpower

My thoughts exactly. Perception and insight are such wildly different things, they never belonged in the same category. The issue is that the quality of your senses don't fit easily into any of your other stats. If I had to pick one, it would be dexterity (grab your torches and pitchforks)...

    Question (Potential Breaking Combo)

You can provoke an OA from moving from one adjacent square to another adjacent square. Nowhere does it say that moving into a space requires that you be out of that space. I'm not saying it's unreasonable, but it's clearly not there.

    Question (Potential Breaking Combo)

In any case, I might contend that Wall of Fire works the same way. Entering a space is the key, not leaving a space. Edit. Regardless of the final decision, it's notable that an enter-leave-enter-leave-enter situation could be used every encounter with a Trick Strike & Cloud of Daggers...

    Question (Potential Breaking Combo)

I've been trying to think of a specific term that describes this situation, where one side considers a clause to be redundant while the other side insists that because it's there the clause must have meaning. Gah, there's totally a technical term for it...

    Question (Potential Breaking Combo)

It's just reasoning. If there must be multiple spaces and a space is more than one square, the example I gave is the most logical definition of space for this power.

    Question (Potential Breaking Combo)

I think, actually, 'space' here refers to the square at ground level and the square above it. This would mean that there are five spaces. Edit. From a RAI satndpoint... running through 5 squares of blades is going to hurt more than running through one square of blades.

    Question (Potential Breaking Combo)

See above, where I dispute your space argument. Edit. I think, actually, 'space' here refers to the square at ground level and the square above it. This would mean that there are five spaces.

    Question (Potential Breaking Combo)

"The spaces occupied by the blade barrier are difficult terrain." Sounds like each square is considered a space.

    Question (Potential Breaking Combo)

I didn't say the consequences were negative, simply that they sometimes appear counter-intuitive and may be difficult to deal with in the middle of a game. The Symbol of Hope limitation is a good example of something that is true by raw but annoying to deal with.
