I must admit to dislike the current system under which XP is lost when a character is Raised from the dead. A character of level X is shipped to the middle of level X-1. That he might have just enough XP to be level X, or almost enough XP to be X+1 makes no difference. Maybe this makes sense...

Can I do this : Enchant a Shield to be +1 ( 1000 gp ). Enchant the Shield's spikes to be +1 ( 1000 gp ). Or, must I do this : Enchant the shield to be +1, and then pay another +1 for the Spikes to be considered a + 1 weapon. ( 4000 gp ). Or does it work in another way?

I'm curious, how do those two things interact? Seems quite the powerful combo, allowing you to gain free movement.
