It doesnt seem all that over powered. on a 1[W] power, your average damage (with no modifiers) goes from 7 to 9. its a nice boost, but I don't think it is over powered. Its in line with the dwarven weapon training, or eladrin soldier feats. both of which are available to those races at first...

Even though Dwarves dont get a Str bonus, I still would say they "fit" fighter, just becuase both wisdom and con are both very good things for a fighter to have. maybe to some lack of strength would disqualify them as a fighter fit, but I'm playing one now, and I love the build.

I think the solution is to go out and get a holy avenger :). but if you stumble on a magic holy symbol and you don't have a cleric in the party, I say more power to ya, but I wouldn't go out of my way to get one, unless you are a pally/cleric multiclass.

well, taking your base assumption that on average you hit level appropriate creatures exactly 1/2 the time (I am not sure if this is true or not, it would depend on your build i think) so if you take a bonus of +1 damage, and you hit 50% of the time, you are doing an extra 0.5 damage per round...

dwarven works better, becuase dwarves get a +2 con racial boost where dragonborn do not. Dragonborn however don't have to spend a feat.

thats true, but more than the surges, adding con bonus to your surge value will be very nice for a character that has a high con.

I know this probably isnt an optimal combination, and as an Eladrin probably more rare, but it would make for an interesting fighter with sneak of shadows multi-class.
