    'Pi Day' - D&D Style!

Spilling condiments on game material is a surefire way to get banned from my table.

    Acquisitions Inc. Livestreamed D&D Game

I agree this was a weak session. As said the body language of the players didn't help. That said I laughed out loud several times tho mostly at the terrible puns and comebacks they made. Mike's idea of closing off the entrance by simply removing it was genius. I say Mike and not Jim as I felt...

New Cooperative D&D Video Game Allows a DM To Run The Adventure

Actually the entire Baldur's Gate series is playable with up to 5 other players.

New Cooperative D&D Video Game Allows a DM To Run The Adventure

It worked well enough in Baldur's Gate. Remember this is a co-op game, not a free-for-all. If the players can't organize their plays, pausing is the least of their problems.

D&D 5E Low Level Wizards Really Do Suck in 5E

A similar post like yours was made slightly after my initial one. I concur that the word "correctly" was a misnomer here. Still though, like I said in my retort if you cross those two instances off that list the remainder is still nothing to sneeze at. I personally feel the heart of 5E is...

D&D 5E Low Level Wizards Really Do Suck in 5E

Indeed, I did not imply a right or wrong way of playing. I meant that given the right tools (ie creativity or DM handwaving) even a low level wizard can change the tides. Also, I feel it's safe to say that if a Burning Hands causes fire then a Ray of Frost causes .. well.. frost. No it doesn't...

D&D 5E Low Level Wizards Really Do Suck in 5E

Low level wizards are awesome. There's two evokers in my group, lvl2 each. During their adventures they have: - burned down a tavern with Burning Hands, killing 4 burly fighters - wrapped a metal chain around a bugbear and used Shocking Grasp on the chain from a safe distance - froze a set of...

D&D 5E How would you continue this? (Lost Mine)

Well, as per my character I worried more than I needed to. When the heroes were done with extinguishing the fire they noticed they had been surrounded by 5 more Redbrands, one of them a bit bulkier than the rest. With fire in his eyes the Bulky Redbrand ordered the others to attack, exclaiming...

    D&D 5E D&D Basic DM rules updated

"Otherwise, the scroll is unintelligible." is also in the Starter Set rules, I was going with that. Kinda assumed v0.1 was the same as the Starter Set.

no it always had to be on your class' spell list.

    D&D 5E Cantrips

The wizard in my group had the rogue wrap a metal chain around a fearsome enemy and then used Shocking Grasp on it from 15 feet away. It was pretty much game over for the bugbear at that point. And yes, I treated it as wearing metal armor for the damage roll :)

D&D 5E How would you continue this? (Lost Mine)

We'll be playing coming Thursday, I will definitely use some of the suggestions done here. I'll post results if I get round to it and if anyone's interested.

whoa thanks. Can't believe I read over that. Seventeen times.

    D&D 5E Cantrips

Prest/Thau seem like nobrainers to me. The amount of annoyance the Wizard and Cleric have brought me with those two spells are insane. On that note though, is it possible to learn more cantrips? The 2 extra spells you learn at level up specifically mention that they'd have to be for a spell...

D&D 5E How would you continue this? (Lost Mine)

Solid points. I hadn't even considered the most obvious question: were there any witnesses? I would think not; even though the perpetrating wizard was outside, all the townsfolk saw was a bunch of heroes running out of a burning building and another wizard trying to contain the fire with an Ice...

D&D 5E How would you continue this? (Lost Mine)

My group of 5 players is going through the Lost Mine module using the Pregens (2 wizards instead of 2 fighters) and were able to do something unexpected 3 sessions in: burn down the Stone Giant Inn. They spent a week in Phandalin after rescuing Sildar reflecting on their previous encounters -...

    D&D 5E Moar Feats

I'm liking these feats. Quality over quantity and all that. BTW, two different elements for "thunder" and "lightning"? I can see that getting mixed up unintentionally.

    D&D 5E It's the Sorcerer!

That question was exactly why I came to this thread :D The next pages will probably have more defining qualities. I hope.. (I preferred the 3E sorceror over the wizard btw)

D&D 5E Wait, what IS the point of Acrobatics?

havent seen it mentioned yet, but Acrobatics is also used in special forms of movement, as mentioned in Chapter 3: Adventuring.
