From my experience, if collective minds don't produce the lowest common denominator, the majority soon lose interest. But polls are good for confirming what the majority believes and expects. Sometimes it's not obvious, and at other times the majority is fickle and easily turned.

Maybe there's a penalty you can impose for operating in close quarters, like in a dungeon. This might keep the race down to the basic level.

It does have that creepyotherworldliness. Maybe it could be an OGC substitute for the mind flayers, though I don't think it should be subterranean or eat brains.

I think I read it correctly. I was just talking up a justification for the CR 6, and saying adding class levels of druid or sorcerer might make her a formidible opponent even if she is non-aggressive.

I would think their alien mindset would make them aberrations. ;)

Looking good. Like Animals, a Beast has a max INT of 2 (I know, apes are probably 3's and 4's, but that's 3e rules). Having such a "frightful presence", you should take those 4 INT points and give 1 of them to WIS and 3 of them to CHA. He is worshipped as a god, after all.

I don't think its dishonorable to vote for ones own self or work if it really is the best choice. I see no more reason to trust false modesty than false honor. I will vote for whichever seems best, which will probably not be my own, anyhow.

This is right. I was wrong. I missed the paragraph about the difference between "elite" and "average" classes in a later section. That info should have been in the beginning of the NPC section.

Are the links to the monsters going to be reposted with the poll? BTW, I hope the contest isn't killed over a medieval history discussion, either. :)
