    Essentials Only Campaigns

But see, that's where the DM just steps in and says that in the current campaign those races aren't allowed. Course, I would give an addendum of "If you can have an epically good reason for playing one of these races I've disallowed then let me know and I'll think about it". Remember, in a...

    Essentials Only Campaigns

Hrm, I don't see much point in an Essentials Only campaign since Essentials is going to be fully compatible with the rest of 4e. Really, Essentials seems to amount to little more than more builds for existing classes.

Question regarding wielding weapons (Monk specifically)

See, that's the thing that has me thrown off on this. I know I'd not be able to use it to make basic attacks, also I'd be a bit iffy on even if I could use it as an implement. However Flurry of Blows doesn't use a weapon, the feat simply requires you to be wielding a club. Now, can you wield...

Question regarding wielding weapons (Monk specifically)

Is it possible to wield a spear in your main hand and a club in your off hand without taking the two weapon fighting feat? For instance, you can make a Wizard and wield a staff in each hand even without dual implement casting, you just don't get a bonus to having both implements being wielded...

Items that grant flight and teleportation.

Not completely, in the hands of say a Monk the Staff of the Traveller lets the Monk teleport all the time since Monks are so shifty already.

    Do you "save" the PCs?

In my youth, I was a lethal GM. Now that I'm nearing 30 though, I'm more forgiving. I'd sooner have the party locked up in a dungeon or prison of some sort than kill them. Players don't like their characters being killed. But you can certainly cause them some inconvienience.

    Why must numbers go up?

Well, you're clearly not being blatant enough. When I say it's not hard for a DM to inform the players that it'd be a BAD idea, I mean flat out saying "Guys, you may want to rethink that plan" I'm not talking about subtle hints, I'm talking about the sublty of a sledge hammer. edit: I should...

    Why must numbers go up?

See, for the things that would end up being a TPK you make it VERY clear that it'd be a BAD idea to do what the party is thinking of doing. It's not hard for a DM to heavily suggest the party not try to assassinate some king in his own throne room or to attack that ancient Dragon before they...

    Why must numbers go up?

What about if they break out of a dungeon at some point and then at a later point decide they need to break into the same dungeon again for whatever reason, say 10 levels later. Why is it suddenly all the guards and such in the dungeon are suddenly 10 levels higher? Making it tailored just...

    Why must numbers go up?

Ah, yes! That's very much it (I never played 3.x, I went from 2nd Ed to 4th Ed) See, I just never found a tailored game to really feel all that real. Always made me feel when I was a player "why are the enemies always coincidentally just around my level no matter what I'm taking on, be it...

    Why must numbers go up?

One thing you can do as a DM though is plan things out differently. Don't build encounters based on what level the players are. Rather, build the guards and such based on what they should be in the position they hold. If your players try to raid a throne room when they're in heroic levels...

    DDI and IPAD

Odds are it's running a modified version of Windows 7, probably a version that has a lot of the bloat cut out of it, so that 1 gig of ram shouldn't be a problem. The 5 hour battery life though, I'm not a huge fan of that.

    DDI and IPAD

Since there are already tablet PC's out there that already do more than the iPad, well it's not hard to believe that HP could and would build a tablet of this sort and not be exaggerating on it's capabilities. In fact, HP already makes tablet PC's. Look up their TX line of laptops.

    Tactical Arithmetic

It definitely sounds like the role playing has left your game. You cannot let that drop off, else it's just a combat game and that's just boring.

    DDI and IPAD

You should note that I'm not talking about netbooks. I'm talking about tablet PC's that can do EVERYTHING the iPad can do, including the touch based interface. Hell, they can even read your hand writing and convert it into text. They're far more versitile than the iPad and far more powerful...

    DDI and IPAD

The iPad isn't a tablet, it's something far more useless. A tablet PC is basically a fully functional laptop that has a screen that can swivel and click back down so it's in a tablet form. I nearly bought one when I got my new laptop 4 months ago.

Oh you most definitely will not be able to use those. Only the Compendium will work.

    DDI and IPAD

The Compendium works on my iPhone so I assume it would work on the iPad.

I hope for another multiclass feat for monks

Doesn't need to be adamantite, fact is that they're made of metal, there may not be much adamantite but there are other metals in sufficient abundance. I maintain my position that a Warforged would be scrapped very quickly on Athas.
