1001 minor traits for magic swords

375) Hrunting is a powerful magical sword, except it doesn't count as 'magical' when a magical weapon is required. It doesn't lose its bonuses or powers, however. For instance incorporeal creatures are immune to it's damage, just like against all non-magical weapons, but if it is a flaming sword it still flames.

377) Peacemaker. +3 deflection bonus to AC, but will randomly teleport away 40 feet if you attempt to kill anything with it.

[Yeah. One of my DMs pulled that trick. Got us into major trouble the first time it happened. Still a good backup weapon if you're fighting defensively.]

378) Anarchic Meta-Blade

This powerful artifact sword is able to sever whom it kills and everything connected to him from the main plot of the game. Was that character protected by a resurrection spell prepared in case of death? Sorry, it fizzled. Did he have a twin brother who would take his place to avenge his death? Nope, he doesn't care anymore and went away. Was the wizard he was working with the real big bad? Nope, he really wasn't. As a matter of fact the wizard had a change of heart and turned himself in. Was the character of vital importance to the machinations of a god? Not anymore.

Note: if the character killed isn't part of the main plot the plot severance effect doesn't occur.

379) The wolfblade.

This is an ordinary plain loooking weapon. However during the night of the full moon it turns to silver with a wolf motif handle and a wicked serrated edge. It becomes a +3 Shapeshifter bane weapon.

380) Trap-vision. Wielding this blade makes mechanical traps appear as red outlines in the wielders vision. The blade doesn't give any clues or bonuses to defusing the traps, other than the ability to see their outline.

381) The Blade of Minor Traits: whenever you place a hand upon the hilt of the sword, you look like a juvenile of your species. You still look like yourself, just much younger: bristling beards become wispy fuzz; womanly curves dissapear. Your actual stats do not change, but you may have unusual social reactions.

This is not an illusion, but a minor shapechanging magic.

382) The Blade of Minor Treats: whenever you place a hand upon the hilt of the sword and say the command phrase, "Would you like a treat?", your other hand will be filled with a snack that the creature closest to you would find most appealing at that moment, granting you a +1 bonus to Charisma based skill checks involving that creature. Said creature must be within 2 size classes of the wielder.

The snack is magically conjured, and very tasty for its kind, but it is not very nutritious. The equivalent of a full meal made of such snacks would require 24 hours of continuous use for one creature. The wielder cannot summon a snack for himself at all.

382) of Guards: +1; +3 vs Criminals (those wanted by the law, only works in areas under juristiction). The owner takes a -2 penalty on attempts to deceive lawmen. Turns into chains binding the wielder should he resist or interfere with a lawful arest.

383) of Cleaning: Upon command turns into full set of animated cleaning appliances. Sadly, weapons make both overeager and sloppy cleaner. Expect bruises, missed spots, broken china and general annoyance.
