[sblock=OOC]This is a multipart challenge. I'm using the updated skill DCs from the Essentials.[/sblock]Free Bryan!

Lhavarr only had an inkling on what to do; they'd have to wing the rest. For now, they needed to remove the connection between the boy and the stone.

Primary Skills

There are more skills, but these are the ones known so far.

Arcana Manipulate the psychic bond. It is easier to shift the bond from the boy to the dog; more difficult to try to remove it from the boy outright.

Dungeoneering Recall similar situations that may be applicable.

Secondary Skills

There are more skills, but these are the ones known so far. Improvisations that can be justified can be rewarded.

Heal Attempt to stabilize the boy during the transfer. Can be used once per round though up to 2 people can assist a primary.

Torqua wastes no time. She begins chanting an alien and magical song of spell breaking, hoping to cut the link between the Boy and the Stone.

Johanna leaned her spear up against one of the walls of the muck-filled depression. Then she set to work- while she had had some training as a healer, she was far more used to treating battlefield casualties. Hopefully, she wouldn't make him any worse off...

OOC: Aid Another (Heal); 1d20+5= 16; roll Roll Lookup

Torqua wastes no time, even though they have not yet rested. With practiced ease, she begins to see and then sever the connection between the cursed rock and the boy. Elkrysn, not as practices, manages to weaken the connection for someone else. Meanwhile, Johanna took a cloth that wasn't too bloody from her still persistant wounds and tried to cool the boy's head with some fresh water from her pack. It was a start.

[Torqua succeeds at the higher difficulty. Elkrysn aids the next Arcana check, Johanna aids the next Heal.]

Successes: 1/6. Failures: 0/3. +2 next Arcana, Heal.

Lhavarr's hands hover over the stone. The bard closes his eyes, feeling the cloud over his mind. He sees it's intelligence, it's thoughts race over his own, malign and alien. The bardent pushes it off, his anger rising with every breath, his thoughts telling it to break it's bond.

Vimak Stonecarver

Torqua continues to work, but the bond is strengthening, making it harder to free the boy. She sees an easier way for the boy, but it may be trouble for the dog.[sblock=OOC]Goldhammer: You may choose to take a failure or choose to take a success by transferring some of the connection to the dog.[/sblock]Lhavarr attempts to contact the stone directly. His rage overcomes the sickness in the pit of his stomach and for a moment, he feels the stone recoil. The boy suddenly starts thrashing about, shrieking and trembling; Vimak calmly holds the boy steady so the others can work.

Meanwhile, Sapo's disturbed croakings are confusing...

[Torqua succeeds/fails. Lhavarr gains one success, but Intimidate can no longer be used. I substituted Athletics for Vimak's Endurance (which cannot really be used here) check; it was a success. However, this success is lost if Vimak does anything else w/o someone also succeeding on the Athletics check. Sapo fails, giving the next Dungeoneering check a -1.]

Successes: 3/6. Failures: 0/3. -1 next Dungeoneering.
