The Stone Breaks Round 6

Torqua, horrified by what she sees, tosses off her spell, but it is too wide to be use use.

Vimak slaps away the various appendages grasping at him and slides back. The goliath manages to wound the mass in one of its abomination's heads, distracting it.

[Slowed UENT for starting in aura. Hit; -3 to damage UENT Vimak]

The Northron woman attempts to cow the mass, but the blow is absorbed in what she hopes if fatty tissue. Her primal anger does draw some of its ire as three sets of eyes turn to her. She is rakes and bitten by a flurry of its mouths.

[Attack hits; marked. Johanna takes 5 damage (3 after resist) for ending in Aura]

Lhavarr steadies himself a moment and steps back. As Elkrysn is about to act, the cave becomes more unstable, either crushing him beneath it or separating him from the others. Wary of the water, Sapo make her way around and attempts to knock the thing off its feet with little success.

[Lhavaar uses second wind and shifts back. Elkrysn is out of the combat. Sapo moves and misses; takes 5 damage from aura.

With a sickening slurp, a part separates from the alien mass. It appears akin to the smaller abominations fought before, though it combines features of all of the others and some canine parts. It hurls a blob of ichor at Lhavarr, but the mass falls short. Meanwhile, the mass lashes out at all around it. It tentacles wrap and crush Johanna, but Sapo dodges out of the way. Its enough to give Johanna an opening: She shoves the creature back, freeing her from its grasp.

[Once-Dog-Thing spawns; takes damage. Glob attacks Vimak with ranged attack: Miss. Once-Dog-Thing then attacks Sapo & Johanna: Hit Johanna for 14 (9 after resist 2 and -3 damage) and grabbed, misses Sapo. Johanna does get to use her Nature's Fury on the second attack: Pushes, slowed, and cannot shift but has no move action left anyway.]

Johanns attempted to take advantage of the dog-thing's momentary distraction, jabbing at it with an awkward overhand strike....

[sblock= OOC]
>It has reach now, in addition to 'spawning'? I'm only asking because the initial description said it was large but did not have reach.

>If it has, indeed, added reach Johanna will use Warden's Fury, opting for a chance at damage. If it doesn't have reach after all, she will use Warden's Grasp to slide it one square away.

>Potential Warden's Fury attack, 1d20+8 vs. FORT= 19 (if that hits, deal 7 damage and dog-thing grants CA until end of Johanna's next turn); rolls Roll Lookup

[sblock=DM needs more sleep]Nope, your right: No reach, just he aura. So you could push it one square to release you. Couldn't have pushed it so that it couldn't have attacked Sapo, but it doesn't matter as it missed. WIll update the map.[/sblock]

[sblock=Lhavarr]
I can control Lhavarr. I will shift him to L16 before Vimak's action. What resources has he have left (encounter, daily powers, power points)?
[/sblock]

Vimak Stonecarver

Vimak rams his halberd in the stone before him. Fire springs forth, washing about friend and foe alike, healing the former and burning the later.

[sblock=ooc]

move: move to k16
minor: Stone’s Endurance (gains resist 5 all)
standard: Flames of Purity (Hit vs Glob AC, hit vs ODT AC, fire damage) (1d20+9=11, 1d20+9=28, 1d10+7=11) (protection mode). Should hit the dog thing for 11 fire damage and Johanna and Lhvarr re-gain 3HP both. (They also gain resist 3 from standing next to Vimak).

---

Rune of Destruction
Allies gain a +1 bonus to attack rolls against enemies that are adjacent to you or to any other runepriests who are in this rune state.

Rune of Protection (active)

OOC: This happens before Vimak's turn:

Lhavarr boldly steps forward, using his mental powers to not cut the dog thing's body but mind...

[sblock=OOC]move: Move to 15 K
Standard: Implanted suggestion hits Will 17 for 15 damage (dazed).
Miss: Half damage. Effect: The target is affected by your suggestion (save ends). Until the suggestion ends, whenever the target makes an attack, one ally adjacent to the target can make a melee basic attack against it as a free action after the target's attack is resolved.[/sblock]

Johanna's voice rose in a harsh Northern battle chant, each word rising until she howled an eerie wail. Despite the strange effects of the acoustics in the cavern, it seemed to raise the spirits of her compatriots, very nearly the sort of effect they had experienced from Lhavarr's emotion-enhancing powers earlier. It reinforced her own will as well, and she stepped forward with renewed strength, still jabbing with her spear to distract the larger creature.

[sblock= OOC]
>Since Johanna's earlier attack was a opportunity action, here is her round:
(If I'm off pace, then use this for her next round of actions)

>Standard: Invigorating Presence (and/or Inspiring Fortitude, depending on which source you use), Johanna spends her second wind and each ally within 5 squares get 13 temp HP. Johanna gets normal second wind benefits (+9 HP, +2 to all defenses until start of her next turn, +3 AC until end of her next turn).
>Move: to K15
>Free: mark dog-thing with Nature's Wrath
