Artemis frowns as he sees Sound of Stone fall under the barrage.

"Have faith Sound! We come to your aid. Think of your clan! Fight on!"

The words seem to have more force than simple words, energy fills Sound of Stone. He rouses from near death to fight again.

Artemis then moves forward, leading by example, taking the fight to the front line. He misses a bold swing at the mechanical pet, but at the same time, two of his allies feel emboldened to attack immediately.

[sblock=actions] Minor: Inspiring Word on Sound of Stone. Heals for surge plus 1d6 → [6] = (6). Roll Lookup . Woot for heals!!
Move: Move to G11.
Standard: Lead by Example vs. Construct Dog. 1d20+6+2, 2d8+3 → ([5, 6, 2], [8, 3, 3]). Roll Lookup Miss! However! With a miss, two allies can shift one square as a free action and make a free basic attack. So please make those moves and attacks before you take the rest of your turn.

OOC: Nice work! I'll be taking one of those move & basic attack actions. Just give me a few minutes to post.

With some help from Artemis, Ianward gets a free shot at one of his foes and then quickly gets himself in a better position to strike the mechanical dog, both strikes true to his aim.

[sblock=Actions]Free: Attack halberdier (MBA) (1d20+8=22 vs AC, 1d8+5=12 damage)
Free: Shift 1 to I-10 (if it has to be in order, he moves first and then attacks the dog instead).
Move: Shift 1 to G-11
Standard: Vicious Cobra Strike on Dog (1d20+8+2(flanking)=18 vs AC, 1d8+5=7 damage) & the dog is marked uent.[/sblock]

Energized by his ally's help, Sound of stone springs to his feet and ducks towards the staircase. He lands a punch on halbardier, but his timing is off and the strike is weak.

He then assumes the mastreful spiral stance; with a swift burr of motion, Sound of Stone delivers a flurry of crushing kicks and punches of psionic force to nearby enemies.

OOC: Move: Stand,

Free slide to I12
Free: MBA on Halbardier.
MBA on Halbardier (1d20+3=19, 1d8=1)
19 vs AC, hit for 1 point,

Standard: MAsterful Spiral. Attack D, H, A2
Masterful Spiral. Attack D, H, A2 (1d20+5=13, 3d8+5=23, 1d20+5=18, 3d8+5=21, 1d20+5=21, 3d8+5=24)

D: Miss, 11 Damage;
H: Hit, 21 Damage;
A2: Hit, 24 Damage,

If H is still alive, I'll use the 4pt flurry of blows on him, otherwise use it on the dog

For the rest of the encounter, all my attacks have range + 1.

OOC: Technically, Sound's turn already happened since he posted before Artemis and the most he could do now would be the free shift and attack; you can see that in the system most games are played here (first character posting is first character acting) the sensible thing when you're down is to not post until everyone else has, because if someone else heals you you'll lose a round of actions and potentially fail a death save. I'll let it slide this time however and pretend rb's first post never happened

"Not again," Bones mutters as he sees his insectoid friend go down. Seeing his allies have already come to Sound's aid, Bones presses on up the stairs to engage the archers and to hopefully press his blade against the throat of the vile Epigenes. As the new construct appears, Bones gulps audibly. Somebody else get up here before I'm as squashed as the bug, he thinks.

[sblock=Actions]
Minor: draw short sword.
Move: move to H14.
Standard: riposte strike against archer #2, 1d20 + 7 vs. AC = 8 miss!

Contingency plan: If archer #2 is already down from allies' damage, then Bones instead draws his third dagger (instead of his short sword) and uses sly flourish to throw it at archer #1 from H14.
Contingency rolls: sly flourish against archer #1, 1d20 + 8 vs. AC = 27 hit! for 6 damage.

As Artemis joins the fray, helping Ianward in his brutal fight with the mechanical dog, his words make a strange effect on Sound of Stone. The humanoid insect jumps on his lower limbs and emits a high-pitched scream that resonates within your cranial cavity; it’s the prelude of something that could be a freak instinct-driven, hormone filled move, or some weird technique hopefully being kept secret for the good of humanity. The results are undeniable: Bones dodges a guard-shaped projectile that speeds past him, Artemis and Ianward are showered in torn bits of metal and one archer is smashed against the wall and crumples in a shapeless bundle. Shaken, your enemies counterattack feebly, not managing to seriously hurt anyone.

It doesn’t take you too long to rush up the stairs: Ianward bashes the remaining off the platform with his shield, putting him out of the combat, and the group overpowers Epigenes. A weapon is raised over his head as he desperately struggles.

[sblock=actions]
Mercurial moves.
Artemis heals Sound for 12 hit points, moves, fails with Lead by Example; allows shifts and MBAs, in that order, to Ianward and Sound. Ianward hits the dog for 12 hp, Sound at the time of this attack is still prone, which I think it means he can’t shift (I can find an express prohibition in the rules, but there’s a feat that allows you to shift when prone) and suffes a -2 penalty to hit, which means he failed 1 damage attack against the soldier.
Ianward hits and marks the dog.
Sound of stone stands up, shifts as move (to keep the result as close to your intentions as possible) and kills everyone within reach: archer, dog and halberdier.
Bones moves and hurts remaining archer for 6 damage, feels inferior.
Mage and archer shoot at Bones (mage fails, archer deals piddly damage) so at this point I’ll declare combat basically over as the remaining enemies have no way to seriously hurt you supposing they survive this round.

You overpower and defeat or kill Epigenes, at your choice. Statuses make no sense as the vignette is close to it’s end and there’s no need to keep track of hit points and surges.

I have to say, I didn’t expect Sound’s mayhem potential, though he paid for it at the cost of isolating/flanking himself, and the battles turned to be a bit easier than I expected as you didn’t use many of your resources.

OOC: ;) I rolled Sound of Stone as an Alpha strike specialist, but he does seem to be more of a glass hammer than I intended. I think I'll add/swap in some defensive feats when I get a level.

"Thorgoius! Where? Speak fleshy prey!" Sound of Stone screeches, his spear point pressed against the prisoner's throat.
