[Adventure]: Bosch's Revenge (DM: Dimsdale, Judge ??)

Tenchuu

First Post
OOC: Really? I roll a 20 to hit when the I am rolling for the enemy? ugg...

DM remember I have +5 to all defenses vs B2 this round.

Halleck moved closer, still humming a battle song to strengthen Skalisss.

"I leave my guard down," he challenged, swinging at the beholder but just missing. The creature took the opportunity and bit down hard, ripping in to Halleck's neck. "Skalis, Now!"

The Dragonborn took his opportunity, and sunk his blade deep.

[sblock=Note to other Players: Bravura]
Halleck has the Bravura Presence:
When an ally who can see you spends an action point to take an extra action and uses the action to make an attack, the ally can choose to take advantage of this feature before the attack roll. If the ally chooses to do so and the attack hits, the ally can either make a basic attack or take a move action after the attack as a free action. If the attack misses, the ally grants combat advantage to all enemies until the end of his or her next turn.

Melee characters might also want to save their AP until I hit with Withering Courage, so they can double dip on the +5 damage bonus.
[/sblock][sblock=Note to other Players: If you miss on something REALLY important]
Halleck has daily power Unintended Feint:
If you miss an attack, and you are within five squares of Halleck, you can use my daily power to reroll the attack with CA.

But, since it's a daily, please use wisely. Also, please throw up a big OOC message so I don't miss the fact that you used it.

1. Thorkelson, a bald, tattooed man, entered the hangman's tavern and recruits Halleck and Vimak for a job. Thorkelson, needed some protection at the docks, but apparently had some sinister other motive, since he used drinks from the bar to drug Halleck and Vimak.

2. Wake up in the middle of a fight, being helped by strangers. Give the bandits a beating,

3. Get approached by the bandit leaders, who have two girls that look exactly like that one we want. The real girl is revealed, and natural, a fight breaks out. After we smash the goons, their leader, Hank the Tank comes out. And, eventually, Hank gets killed.

4. Get the real mission: deliver Lerrick to brother Buchta, so he can remove the mark of Trogdor from her forehead. The mark is in indicator to all that Lerrick has been chosen to be sacrificed to the dragon Bosch. Your quest as of now is to provide safe passage for Lerrick to brother Buchta so that he can perform the ritual. This includes taking her to the portal, traveling thought it, and then taking her from the portal to brother Buchta's place of residence.

5. Delivered Lerrick, performed the ritual, saved the day. However, discovered an evil dragon named Bosch who wears a necklace which makes him a juggernaut. Halleck carries a shield which should counter this effect. Adventurers now must stop the dragon.

Quan refocuses on the downed beholder. This time he reaches for the arrow that always remains cold to touch. His aim is true and the beholder is pinned to the ground, hopefully allowing his allies to end it before it takes flight again.

Nementah moves closer to downed beholder, and Primera charges from one to the other stabbing her horn into the beast. Protective spirits swarm around Primera, each choosing one ally to circle around.

The gem on Nementahs head flashes for a moment and beholder turns toward her, ignoring the allies for the moment, giving Raijin a chance to hit much easier then if it was focused on them.

[sblock=Actions]
Move: Nementah O11, Primera Q15 (under the beholder, adjacent to allies, 1 square up

Repeated attacks from dwarf, runepriest and the potent thunder attack fom Raijin prove too much for the bloodied beholder as it falls to its death. The other beholder is battered as well, taking massive damage from the Quan, Primera and Skalisss. These attacks trigger unexpected events. At the same time, both beholders blasts huge bursts of fire engulfing five nearby heroes. As the flames fade away, the immobilized beholder roars as he sees his one of his own lying motionless on the ground.

NoooOOOOOOOOOO!

Anger and pure rage swells in the immobilized beholder

YOU WILL PAY FOR THIS WITH YOUR LIVES! Then in a more evil sinister voice: I will enjoy eating all of you.

The beholder then unleashes a flurry of new attacks, shooting fire at the paladin, the runepriest and the sorcerer. One of the stalks gaze into the warlord's eyes, but Halleck's will is too strong. Rocco is lifted into the air and thrown into a pool of water where the where the dwarf's plate armor quickly causes him to sink to the bottom.

[sblock=Rocco]
You sink 20 feet. You can move to a side of the wall as if you walking in DT. Once you reach a side of the wall: Athletics check of 20 to climb for every 10 feet (due to the slippery walls of the pool. if you fail a roll you still manage to stay at your current elevation

Neurotic

I plan on living forever. Or die trying.
I pass both passively, dwarf knows his rocks and Rocco knows how to swimm (being from Deep Lake and all) and is in chain not plate :)

I would like to know (with dungeoneering 19 passive) if I collapse that wall and there is room behind, will I swamp the sewers of the city (that is, is this isolated pool or there is more water coming from somewhere. Conversely, if there is a lake on the other side, will it, could it fill the cave? And last but not least, if there is room into which the water could flow away, what kind of action would Rocco need to remain on this side instead of being swept away?

Assuming it's (fairly) safe (Rocco does not think there is a lake on the other side and this pool is isolated or nearly so):

Strenght check (1d20+4=23)
*BLAM* The wall cracks under Samson's strenght :)

Vimak is badly hit by the beholders attack, but his protection runes and natural endurance help him to shrug of the worst of it. He moves forward to the next enemy and engulf him and his allies in divine flames, healing the wounds of his companions.

The healing affected also Vimak. I added the 9 points to my current HP.
It was no crit, right? If it was, I would activate the Fortification power of his armor.

Nementah stays in place, keeping Primera near the beholder. Primera attacks with one of her stronger attacks, but misses as the beholder rolls to see her directly. Horn passes so close it twitches in the air, but only effect is that Primera has to pull back to avoid falling on her nose.

Firey rays strike him but Skalisss does not seem significantly injured, Vimak's Flames of Purity restoring some of his vitality. Challenging the Beholder again he fights on, adding the healing touch of Netari for Halleck. "Face me you fiend!"

[SBLOCK=Actions]
Skalisss takes a total of 27 points of damage last turn (2 of the rays hit him), Skalisss' armor has Resist 1 ALL so 2 points are knocked off this total for last round. This turn he is healed another 9 points by Vimak's Flames of Purity.

Skalisss gains +2 damage from Vimak's rune of Destruction. Canon of Avoidance from Halleck adds +2 to all defenses.

Minor Action: Lay on Hands: Skalisss spends a healing surge so Halleck can regain his surge value in hit points plus 5.

Minor Action: Divine Challenge on B2, if B2 makes attacks that include anyone other than Skalisss it takes 12 Radiant damage, TENT.

OCC: B2's attacks against targets other than Skalisss last turn would have triggered Divine Challenge, inflicting 12 points of damage on B2. Just wanted to check if that was added to the tally.
