Halleck moves in to Flank the creature. He sank his blade deep into its back, and then boasted, "Show me all you've got. I'll even give you a free shot!"

He bashed the thing in the face with his shield, and then dropped his defenses. The enemy's attack came, and landed, but he signaled for the others to strike.

OOC: Mwahahaha.

I used Diabolic Strategem, which states: "The first attack the target makes against you before the start of your next turn provokes opportunity attacks from you and your allies."

Then I used my AP for Brash Assault, to lure it into attacking me, triggering DS.

Net Effect:
- I dealt 15+10 + 9+10=44 damage.
- I take 12 damage.
- I triggered OA for all of the allies, plus another free MBA from Rocco (as my brash assault target).

This should do the trick.

Halleck has the Bravura Presence:
When an ally who can see you spends an action point to take an extra action and uses the action to make an attack, the ally can choose to take advantage of this feature before the attack roll. If the ally chooses to do so and the attack hits, the ally can either make a basic attack or take a move action after the attack as a free action. If the attack misses, the ally grants combat advantage to all enemies until the end of his or her next turn.

Melee characters might also want to save their AP until I hit with Withering Courage, so they can double dip on the +5 damage bonus.

If you miss an attack, and you are within five squares of Halleck, you can use my daily power to reroll the attack with CA.

1. Thorkelson, a bald, tattooed man, entered the hangman's tavern and recruits Halleck and Vimak for a job. Thorkelson, needed some protection at the docks, but apparently had some sinister other motive, since he used drinks from the bar to drug Halleck and Vimak.

2. Wake up in the middle of a fight, being helped by strangers. Give the bandits a beating,

3. Get approached by the bandit leaders, who have two girls that look exactly like that one we want. The real girl is revealed, and natural, a fight breaks out. After we smash the goons, their leader, Hank the Tank comes out. And, eventually, Hank gets killed.

4. Get the real mission: deliver Lerrick to brother Buchta, so he can remove the mark of Trogdor from her forehead. The mark is in indicator to all that Lerrick has been chosen to be sacrificed to the dragon Bosch. Your quest as of now is to provide safe passage for Lerrick to brother Buchta so that he can perform the ritual. This includes taking her to the portal, traveling thought it, and then taking her from the portal to brother Buchta's place of residence.

5. Delivered Lerrick, performed the ritual, saved the day. However, discovered an evil dragon named Bosch who wears a necklace which makes him a juggernaut. Halleck carries a shield which should counter this effect. Adventurers now must stop the dragon.

The powerful attack of the warlord proves too much for the devil as it falls backward into the pit. On its descent it knocks into many other foes which fall as well. One of the lets out a thunderous roar, followed by a blast of energy which surges from the pit into the ceiling above as well as lifting party members near the pit upwards and away from the pit. The ceiling cannot take the assault and begins to crack, a small one at first, but then spreads quickly, branching off into new cracks. Small pieces of rock begin to fall, followed by a massive cave in. From behind the falling boulders comes a surge of trapped water, which flows into the pit along with the rock before it. As soon as it started, it has now ended. What's left of the pit is now filled with water? The party is scattered along the perimeter of the newly formed pool The door on the side of the room which was once closed is now forced open. Torch light flickers and radiates into the room.

ooc: Damage:
1. Primera vanished as a result of the attack, initially not effected by the burst of energy, but crushed by the falling rock.

2. Rocco and Halleck take 2d10 from the blast and are prone: Rocco 9 and halleck 7

The staff in Nementah's hand suddenly glows a radiant green color. Green sap bleeds from the branch and solidifies into an sphere of the same color. The branch then fades back to its original shape and color. The sphere fades to a dark green color and is filled with strange runes that flicker bright green followed by darker colors. The branch then communicates to its holder

The portal is closed...It is done. You and your allies have done well young sapling. Perhaps when you are finished with your current quest you can continue to help me. If not, I'll direct you to someone who can. (ooc: possible opening to future adventure)

Only then she appears to notice the sphere she's holding in her other hand...
"Oh, this is Orb of Runes, if someone can use it? This is a reward for helping us. We think you deserve whatever we find in beholders lair. You have my gratitude."
She still speaks distractedly, but focuses more toward the end and stops mixing plural with singular personal references.

As the rune priest moves closer to Nementah, the orb begins to glow, then float away from Nementah. It rises to height of 10 feet and begins to spin. As it does so, a piece of red metallic liquid separates from the orb. The orb falls to the floor, then rolls, settling before the feet of the warlord. Meanwhile, the metallic blob, like five times before molds itself into a ring, which when complete, falls into the large hand of the goliath.
