Advice for a Favored Soul needed

I have a 1st level Favored Soul, and I'm looking for some ideas on Feats/Spells/PrCs/etc...

Details(off the top of my head- I haven't played the character for about 5-6 months)
Str 12
Dex 12
Con 14
Int 8
Wis 12
Cha 16

Race: Human; Deity: Bahamut(Lawful Good(LG or NG cleric/FS only)Domains: Air, Cold, Dragon, Good, Law, Luck, Protection); Favored Weapon: Heavy Pick
Feats: One I can't remember, and Augment Healing
(I can retrain out of the other feat, so a second 1st level Feat could be taken)
Spells Known: Bless, Cure Light Wounds, Prot. from Evil
Books Usable: Core; a lot of the "Complete" books material; some "Races of" material; some PH2; and a rare Feat/spell/Prc from other WotC books

I'm looking for some interesting combos to make him a little different- I want to stick mainly to Buffs/Healing/Condition removal/Dispels, for a well-rounded party. I suppose I'll need an attack spell every once in awhile, preferably something with no save(FS spell DC is based off Wis, right?).

Fairly OK with combat is good, I'll pick up a couple spells later on if I need to self-buff, but not too many. I'm looking for a feat that will maybe let me take a domain of Bahamut(listed above)- I thought there was one out there but I can't find it.

For Prestige Classes, any advice on something that would advance with decent BAB/spell progression. Divine Champion is interesting, but I'd be limited to FS level 4 or so, but I'd be able to slowly work in some of Bahamut's domain spells.

I statted up a favored soul, and I tried to mix up the spell selection a lot even within the healing/buffing nitche. For example, some cures, some vigors, some channelled healing spells, healing lorecall, panacea. I like the flavor better when the different level spells are different in more than effectiveness.

The alternate class ability in the PHB II is worth a look, too, if you want to be a buffing/healing specialist.

Reach Spell would truely be worthwhile, since you will have the spell slots to make up for the +2 slot cost, and still be able to sling those higher level spells.

Extend for the same reason. Get the most milage out of your buffs and still have spells.

Hm. On that note, I remember a feat somewhere that caused any spell you cast to pop back up in D4 rounds if it got disspelled. It hurts when you put 2+ buffs on someone, just to have them stripped off, kinda negates the larger number of spells you get. Anyone remember which book it was in?

For an attack spell, Searing Light is a great one. Decent damage, gets better vs undead, which will help make up for not being able to turn. As far as offense goes though, negating the BBEG's debuffs is often more effective than a straight damage roll.

Good ideas. I'll have to check out healing lorecall, and see if I can get access to panacea. Thanks!

That's one nice thing about the metamagic feats- the utility, even though it's a full-round spell. I was thinking Still spell or Silent spell(I think I'm grappled a lot more often than silenced, though) would be nice in those odd situations.

I'd have to see what that Feat does that brings back a spell if dispelled. I'm sure I'll have to pick up Searing Light, Dispel and greater dispel.

Does anyone know of a Feat that allows a Favored Soul to get one of their Deity's domains(and add their spells to the FS spell list for spells known choices)? I thought I remembered seeing one, but I can't find one now. (from WotC material)

There is an Arcane Disciple feat that allows arcane spellcasters to do this, but nothing for Favored Souls?

Take the right PrC and you get access to domains easily.

Back to the original question:

My all time favorite Favored Soul was a Favored Soul/Thaumaturgist. See, I hate the concept of any character that gets permanent wings. So, I intentionally do not take levels in Favored Soul from where they get wings on. The Thaumaturgist PrC mixes quite favorably with the Favored Soul.

You get enough spells to take every cure spell if you want. You can also take every Summon __ spell in addition. Actually, you can every take all the cures and all the summons and still have enough left over for all the Planar Ally spells, too. [I'm not saying to do this, just that you can. And, these will actually leave you with a fair amount of room for the occasional buff or offensive spell. But my favored soul could summon just about anything she wanted, and far more often than a wizard/cleric of her level. She didn't need to get close to the enemy. She sent minions to provide instant flanking for the fighter. She sent minions to do the scouting. She rocked.

But ... if you follow this course, go buy yourself a 1" binder and print out ALL the possible creature stat blocks that you'll possibly ever need. Because this character has the potential to drag a game out to eternity in the hands of a poorly prepared player. But in the hands of a smart and well prepared character, this one was fun to play!

If you want, blow a feat or two on Augment Summoning and Augment Healing. [Actually, Augment Summoning comes for free with the Thaumaturgist, doesn't it? So scratch that.] Other cool feats would be ones that allows a ummoning to occur with the summoned creature already buffed (using an additional spell slot, of course). Good times, good times.

Contemplative PrC (?) grants domains and full spells

There are feats that give you a domain power. I think the spell list is a seperate feat.

I belive all are in Complete Divine.

Contemplative looks Ok for what I'm looking for- the special requirements might be hard to come by though.

I can't find any feats in CD about giving a domain power, or spell list. :\

If your DM is flexible, there's a nice prestige class near the back of Deities and Demigods called the "Soldier of Light". That's a sweet PrC to tack on to a Favored Soul, and I've used it to excellent effect.
