Instead it's more like, "I really want to buy from them, but every time I'm in there, they keep giving me reasons not to."

I've done both for the 5th Edition releases. The Starter Set, Player's Handbook, Horde of the Dragon Queen, and DMG have or will be purchased from my FLGS. Monster Manual is coming from Amazon.

I got, or am getting, the from the FLGS is because I want those, in particular, in my hands early (I ordered them all together and got a slight discount). The Monster Manual I can deal with waiting on for a few weeks in return for the big savings.
