Rifle, Single-shot Muzzleloader
Size: Large, 2d6/x3/100 ft./9 lb./Bludgeoning and Piercing
Revolver, Single-shot Muzzleloader
Size: Small, 1d10/x3/10 ft./3 lb./Bludgeoning and Piercing
NB on firearms:
1. Both firearms require a standard action to load (that is, you
can load and fire, move and load, or move and fire a loaded gun in a
single round, but you cannot move, load, and fire in one round).
2. Why the specific damage ranges? With the massive damage
threshold at 10+ hp, I wanted a weapon capable of killing in one
blow, but not one that would all the time. Most soldiers in the
Civil War (and even up to WWI, IIRC) died of infections and not
wounds from guns. Still, I wanted the threat there that even on a
non-critical, the gun could kill an investigator or other human
being. Average damage, if I'm calculating it correctly, for the
rifle will be 7 points of damage and 5.5 points of damage for the
revolver.
3. As far as I've been able to find out, pistols with cylinders did
not appear until 1836.
4. Damage is bludgeoning and piercing to represent how musketballs
work as I understand it.
