The Polyp is a bit nastier but not that much nastier, so it may be a strong CR 6 too. I would still like to increase the acid damage of its Swallow Whole, since the original could dissolve its victims very quickly.

demiurge1138 Inventor of Super-Toast Jan 12, 2010 #217 Boosting the acid to 1d6 or 1d8 would be good.
Shade Monster Junkie Jan 12, 2010 #218 Let's go with 1d8 since it was so fast to digest things. Updated. Finished now?

I was thinking of something higher than that. 2d6 or 2d8 acid damage, maybe even 3d6. The original completely digests a victim in 5 rounds - how many hit points of acid damage does it take to liquefy a corpse? Hmm, a Tendriculos does 2d6 acid damage plus paralysing digestive secretions but no crushing, a Purple Worm 8 acid and 2d8+12 crushing. I think the Tendriculos is a better model.

demiurge1138 Inventor of Super-Toast Jan 13, 2010 #220 To be fair, a corpse probably doesn't have many hit points. Let's use, for the sake of comparison, a human zombie. Which has 16, and three of those are from a feat.
