[CW] Drunken Master/Improvished Weapons

Curious as I'm considering a character designed around the DM concept.

The text says that damage for the improvished weapons is the monk's unarmed strike + the modifier (1d4, 1d8, and 1d12).

But the example build says the damage dealt is just 1d6.

Somewhat curious as to which of them is the appropiate ruleset? I'm assuming the example build is just a typo/editing mistake, but wanted to be sure.

What level Monk/Drunken Master is the example build?

The example build is monk 5/Drunken Master 8 (human).

Items don't include anything that'd affect damage die (ie, monk's belt).

It's really odd, because, the base unarmed damage die is listed at 1d10 (instead of 1d8 as appropiate for his level). The improvised Weapons listing says it deals 1d6 points of damage.

The text for DM never mentions the possibility of a 1d6 damage die.

And for his level, the improvised weapons damage should be 1d8 damage die. (Should be 1d8+1d8 damage according to the write up).
