Darkmatter D20 - Yellow Twilight Darkening

The secretary nods at Spectran's call for help, and runs out of the room. She returns swiftly with three doctors from the ER bearing a stretcher. As they load Dr. Garfield's body onto the stretcher, one places his two forefingers on the doctor's neck.

"We have an extremely faint pulse here. Get him down to the ER stat. We're gonna try to save him."

OODM: Haven't heard from him. E-mailed him at the same time as you, but no reply as of yet.

After a few moments, the ER doctors come back, bearing the stretcher. They converse in the hall, and two continue pushing the stretcher down the hall. One enters and speaks, looking down.

"It was no use," he says, shaking his head. "He died before we even got to the ER. We'll have to ask you guys to stay around for the inquest."

Carl tries to smile, but it doesn't really work out as planned. "Sure, no problem. Anything to help." After the man leaves, Carl begins to hastily search through the desk. "There's got to be something here," he says to Spectran. "Nobody blows his own head off without a reason."

Carl tries to smile, but it doesn't really work out as planned. "Sure, no problem. Anything to help." After the man leaves, Carl begins to hastily search through the desk. "There's got to be something here," he says to Spectran. "Nobody blows his own head off without a reason."

"Carl! We can't do anything without a warrant. Nothing will be usable in court." Ovcourse We can stay right here while the warrent ids being issued so that nothing is disturbed." Ian says with a wink. He pulls out his phone and calls for backup and a warrent to be issued.

After a short time, Spectran's cell goes off. On the other end is Officer Williamson, one of Spectran's co-workers at the precinct.

"Detective Spectran?" Williamson's voice says. "We've processed the warrant you've requested, we're currently filling it out and you can pick it up at your convenience. The chief's detailed some backup for you as well."

OODM: I'm not sure how long it takes for a warrant to be issued, but hey, I'm taking some poetic license.

Ian says "Get CSU down here. Pronto! We have a situation." He turns to Vincenzo and says "Hey... You still with us? Carl check to see if Mr. Leather hasn't died from shock.

"CSU's being sent. Is there anything else?"

But before Spectran can answer, the door opens and in steps one of the orderlies from down in the morgue. "The doctor's finished with his preliminary examination," he says. "He'd like to see you down there now. Wants to ask you about Dr. Garfield's suicide."

When you get down there, the head of the morgue, Dr. Burkholder, is there as well as a few of the hospital bigwigs.

OODM: But you can post if you want to do anything real quick before you leave.

Carl exchanges muted pleasantries with those present. "So, what have we got so far?"

OOC: Did I find anything in Dr. Garfield's desk?

"What we expected, pretty much. Died by a single self-inflicted gunshot wound, but you know that, you were there. Beyond that, nothing unusual. No physical abnormalities or defects. Only real thing of note was signs of a heart condition, but it was apparently under control."

OODM: Well, why don't you let the CSU get here.

Ian says to the orderly "We need to stay here until the CSU team get here to ensure that the crime scene is not disturbed. Once they are here we can meet with Dr. Burkholder."
