No, you can sneak attack with anything that requires an attack roll.

... and deals damage can be used in a sneak attack. In this case "damage" is normal damage, nonlethal damage, ability damage, or energy drain.

The bonus damage from a sneak attack is expressed as extra dice and it is not multiplied with a successful critical hit,...

This is certainly true.

...or when an attack otherwise gets a damage multiplier.

But this is at best debateable.

IMO, the extra sneak attack damage is cold damage, so is equaly suceptible to the effects of that feat and the resistances or vulnerabilities of the target as any other cold damage.

BTW, isn't the feat called 'Piercing Cold'?

Oh yes, and deals damage. That's what I meant.

Anyway, not just weapons.

But unarmed strike isn't. Can you sneak attack with an unarmed strike?

Yes. You can, as someone cleverly stated elsewhere, sneak attack with a ham sandwich if you wanted to. (Provided the ham sandwich could inflict damage (improvised, subdual damage weapon?))

Hello,

A wicked prestige class in the Vile Darkness permit the spellcaster to do sneak attack with spells. i dont remember the name, but this for the follower of a demon lord. Maybe you could just make some adjustment to this prestige class and allow it in your campaign world if this fit your need.
