D&D 5E Dwimmermount [IC]

Shara smiles brightly as she steps out of the quiet street and into the jovial atmosphere of the Flask and Scroll. Though she wasn't a heavy drinker, she had always loved taverns. Her desire to protect life stemmed from her love of it, and taverns always teemed with life--plans being made, romances beginning and ending, dreams being dreamed and friends made and lost. These places were practically alive in their own right.

She orders a pitcher of wine for the table, and then settles in to enjoy both the bard's performance and the lively atmosphere. After years of solitude in the desert, she had never been so delighted by the simple pleasures of such a place. She was glad for the rooms above, because she knew she'd want to stay here, happy to fall asleep to the sounds of life happening below.

"NOSTROVIA!" yells the giant man from far away. He sings and dances foreign songs that only the drunkest of drunks even attempt to sing. Lucious was by far one of the most jovial patrons in the tavern. He was satisfied. His thirst for battle sated. Every now and then he would make his way to his companions and raise a glass in silence, for the fallen, before returning to the next unsuspecting tavern girl off her feet in a quick playful spin.

Magen Brigward, Fighter 2

Magen gets himself the last room in at the inn, his retainers remaining at the boarding house. Once his accommodation is sorted he orders an ale. Returning to the table he quietly enjoyed the merry atmosphere, pouring out a good mouthful of ale on the floor every time Luscious raised his own glass. He doesn't sing or dance but it is clear that he is happy and enjoying the evening.

Despite letting go a little, Magen still keeps a close eye on Edgar and especially Warian, making sure neither get too drunk.

The heroes celebrate their victory with song and merriment. Most of the patrons enjoy Hunter's performance and the owner, an older human male by the name of Macyot, pays for his drinks and a nice meal that eve. Most of the other patrons in the inn are local townfolk, the blacksmith Larenz Arquem from the Smith & Armoury, Lotier Bonajute, the town's Moneychanger and dwarf Delster, whom runs Delster's Gemsmith. There is also a short and skinny human by the name of Climent. Climent claims to be a wizard who has been here in town now for two months awaiting his fellow companions of the Red Shields but they have not shown up and he thinks some foul play and befallen them.

The inn appears to remain open all night for those with the fortitude to want to stay up but the rest of you head for your beds around midnight. Some of you will probably be sporting good hangovers in the morning...

"Not to my knowledge" the young wizard says "We only formed about four months ago when we were working as merchant guards in the Greenward City-States Alliance. We did pretty good there but when we heard about the Dwimmermount opening I came ahead while they settled their affairs. You see, my master had told a legends about this place and I am eager to see what's inside..."

"Strange. But there are all manner of people coming to the Dwimmermount. Your friends may have just crossed paths with the wrong sort on their way. I do hope they turn up."

Shara stays until midnight or so, but before heading to her room, she gets two flagons of water from the tavernkeeper and sets them in front of Lucious and Hunter. "Please drink these before you go to sleep. They'll do more for you than any amount of divine healing will tomorrow. Goodnight, gentlemen," she says with a smile, and heads upstairs.

The next morning Magen is a little groggy, as his mind clears over breakfast he asks, Anyone else wandering if that wizard's friends ran afoul of the Five Fingers of Fate gang that has a bounty on their head? Perhaps we should keep an eye out for them while we are searching for these ruins."

Shara frowns a little. "I hope not, for their sake." She takes a sip of her tea and adds, "And I hope that young man doesn't do anything foolish to try and see the Dwimmermount..."

The rest of the week is spent in training and milling about in town meeting the locals and getting a lay of the land. The open space if filled with local farmers and merchants every other day to form an open market where most common goods and bought and sold. They meet Priestess Emelisse, of the Church of Tyr, the patron god of Muntburg. There was a large general store by the name of Tasin's Goods that sold most 'advantage style' of gear along with a few weapons and some small armor (although it was all marked up a bit higher then was available at the Smithy & Amrourers). There was also the Stanner Merchant House where caravans where occasional planned. The heroes got the feeling that this house had seen better days but with the opening of the Dwimmermount they were hoping for a comeback.

Hiddell appears at the market four days after the heroes had arrived, with a young man the heroes don't recognize and gives over the addition coin that he has promised. He thanks the heroes again but they all saw a great sadness in his eyes.

The heroes had also meet their first other Adventuring Company, the Battle Royals who just returned from the Dwimmermount during that week. They seem to be a fairly experienced group of five adventures and claimed that they had recovered a magical sword and gem of some kind from within the tomb. They are a bit cagey though about the entrance they took or what they encountered except to say that the tomb is inhabited with orcs and other humanoid kind and undead.
