Help me make a combat teleporter without psionics

I believe the Horizonwalker Dimension Door ability only works on certain planes like limbo.

I have a "combat teleporter" in my game, He's a gestalt cleric/ sorc. You could probably achieve it with sorc/ eldritch knight, and picking spells appropriately. Dimension door, Regroup, Teleport, Baleful Transposition, Beneign Transposition.

It's a lot of wizard, but a wizard 9 + some fighter-type levels (barbarian, ranger, fighter, take your pick) would let you summon monsters and use Quickened Benign Transposition to jump around in combat.

Horizon Walker works fine - from the SRD:

Shifting (Planar): You instinctively anticipate shifts in the reality of the plane that bring you closer to your destination, giving you the spell-like ability to use dimension door (as the spell cast at your character level) once every 1d4 rounds. You gain a +1 insight bonus on attack and damage rolls against outsiders and elementals native to a shifting plane.

A cleric level could be worth considering as well, since one of the domains (I forget which) gives +10ft movement. Scout (Complete Adventurer) is perhaps worth considering as a class as well for the extra bonus for moving around the battlefield.

Something like Ranger3/Barbarian2/Horizon Walker 6/Cleric 1/Scout 1?

That'd give 50ft movement with Dim.Door every 1d4 rounds, with BAB+11 and Spring Attack

Another option might be a wizard 9/fighter 1/Spellsword 4, with summoned creatures and Quickened Benign Transposition. Summon loads of critters then jump in with Benign transposition when you need to. You might be able to pick it to summon crazy movement-type creatures as well. This would give you access to things like Haste and Swift Expeditious Retreat as well.

I'd really recommend taking a closer look at your PHB II. It has some real nice things in it to make this work! What you want are these:

New Armor Special Ability: Twilight (p.21) - Reduces Arcane Spell Failure by 10%, making it possible for a multiclassed arcane caster (with the necessary armor proficiency) to wear a Twilight Mithril Chain Shirt +1 with 0% ASF.

Immediate Magic (p.68) - Conjurer Specialist: Lose Familiar gain abrupt jaunt. Spell-like ability that lets you teleport 10ft as an immediate action Int Bonus/day.

New Teleporting Spells: Dimension Hop (2nd Level), Dimension Step (3rd), Regroup (3rd), Scattering Trap (3rd), and Dimension Shuffle (5th).

With this you should be able to simply make a Conjurer 5/Fighter 1/Eldritch Knight 8 that would suit your purposes. Abrupt Jaunt will allow for some interesting 10-ft short hops a number of time per day equal to your Int Bonus, BAB +11/+6/+1, twilight mithril chain shirt for some light armor if you like and the same goes for mithril bucklers as well, and CL 12th Conjurer for all those great teleportation spells, up to 6th level spells. Plus the PHBII's new tactical teleportation spells are excellent for your character concept as a battlefield teleporter from teleportation traps to teleporting willing allies to your side, etc.

That'd be a house rule.

Liquidsabre, that's a pretty neat build. I have PHB II, but I haven't really looked at the spells yet as my group typically only adopts feats and PrCs from the WotC splatbooks. The only spells we have adopted are those in the Vigor line.

Very nice.

I might just stick with Greater Mage Armor over the twilight mithril chain shirt... and (unless you are ring-happy) a force shield ring over the mithril bucklers.

If you're going to be a Conjurer, you'll have to give up two schools. In deciding what to give up, remember that this character should probably focus on swift spells and buffs - since you'll be wanting to fight in melee, your spells should be things that enable you to do that better - and not things that compete with that.

If you're willing to use up to 4 feats on it, and if the GM is willing to allow Eberron stuff in FR (admittedly, rather large 'if's, there) then you could get the Eberron Dragonmarks of Passage.

Least Dragonmark: Choose Dimension Leap and you can basically Dimension Door up to 10' per character level, 1/day.

Lesser Dragonmark: Choose Dimension Door, and you can also then DLeap 2/day.

Greater Dragonmark: Choose Teleport, and you can also then DDoor 2/day and DLeap 3/day.

Quicken Dragonmark (from Magic of Eberron) : With this feat, your DLeap becomes a free action instead of a standard.

These first three feats would allow you up to 6 teleportation effects per day, and the fourth would allow you to (for example) DLeap within melee range of a foe and full attack him. I am currently PCing a 7th-level char with all these feats except (of course) Greater Dragonmark, and I'm absolutely *loving* the mobility they give me.

The feat cost is heavy, but they have the advantage of not requiring a specific build. You can, in theory, play any character you want with this option. And nothing says you have to take all four! Even just taking the Least and Lesser Dragonmarks would give your character three teleport-style abilities per day!

It's not Swift, but you should also consider Warlock 6. That'll get you Flee the Scene, a short range at-will dimension door SLA, with the added bonus of a one round major image of yourself left behind to confuse your foes. Not as easy to use as the PHBII spells, but being at will means you'll get a lot more milage out of it. Plus you'll have three other Invocations to help make up for the lack of psionic powers.

Okay, the DM has said officially that psionics are out. Unfortunately I was bored so I spent three hours working up a ranger 1/barbarian 1/psion (nomad) 2/fighter 1/illithid slayer 8/elocator 1, which I grew rather enamored with.

I had (with magic full plate and a few other items) AC 25, a speed of 35 ft., and crazy fun skills:

Climb +12, Concentration +19, Hide +6, Jump +18, Knowledge (dungeoneering) +9, Listen +17, Move Silently +6, Psicraft +20, Spot +17, Survival +17, Swim +12, Tumble +12.

I could walk on air, teleport all over the place, and use energy push to shove people into desirable locations. I could -- and this is my favorite trick -- swiftly dimension hop above a crowd of enemies, float in the air with the elocator's scorn earth ability, then whirlwind attack while power attacking for full, expending my focus on Deep Impact so that my attack is a touch attack.

With a spiked chain.

So I'm sad that I won't be able to play this character. While I can do the whole Conjurer 5/Fighter 1/Eldritch Knight 8 thing, it just seems boring. I want some more skills (particularly Listen and Spot, which aren't class skills for Eldritch Knight), and I want more tricks like the one I mentioned above. Are there any prestige classes in the Complete books that provide good BAB and high caster level advancement while also providing interesting abilities or good skill options?
