D&D General How AD&D Handled 'Attunement': The Magic of the Item Saving Throw Table

I used it generally on failed saving throws. My brother was not lucky. He was hit with a lighting bolt and failed. While wear a helm of brilliance. At the end of lots of saving throws. The party stood up dusted by brother off them, pick up his boots and the helm which still had 1/3 of the original gems remaining. They all lost at least one magic item, and one piece of clothing.
