How to make maps

A couple of people have asked me how I created the map I posted for the Collaborative Cave project.

I have an active thread on Circvs Maximvs where I have been uploading Paint tutorials. Yes, I drew it using Windows Paint.

So, if you've been intimidated by Windows paint, fret no more!

You don't need to be a CM user to read them (at least I don't think you do).

It might actually be easier to start with 3, then 2, then 1, and then read 4.

Got any map examples that you have done in Paint???

Why would anyone go through the pain and use MS Paint for that, if there are free programs available, which are a thousand times better (like The Gimp)?

I have to agree that GIMP is great although I think alot of people are intimidated by teh learning curve of such programs.
