Kahru cursed as the ground beneath him burst, tearing up his tree cover and pummeling him with stone. Stumbling forward over the broken ground, he leapt over a fallen tree trunk and regained his balance as he swung the excited Waythe into action. The barbarian had not expected the giant to call on the walking mountain and had not moved quickly enough!

but we have giants to slay!” the northman grinned as his gaze swept down the slope, focussing his resolve, even as he summoned a pair of dire wolves from the hills behind him.

He commanded the two snowy beasts to attack the giant clambering up towards him, while he gripped Waythe‘s hilt and began the dash down towards the giant‘s mistress following behind.

The barbarians blood surged and even as another lightning bolt came down beside the giantess Kahru felt the red rage of his zealous fervor grip him once more

Legend
The Colonel called lightning down on the hill giants as they climbed a steep hillside toward Kahru. They were large enough to survive the blast, so Gimlak sent a psychic burst toward them, confusing the giant guard while the giantess shook her head to clear it. Kahru summoned wolves, who mauled at the giant's legs while the giant, confused as it was, pounded at the wolves with his club.

Gimlak had psychically pulled Kaligan away from the giant houndsman, whose dire wolf leaped on the fighter. The houndsman raised his maul and brought it down on the ground, raising a cloud of rock and dirt that showered down on Kaligan and the wolf, knocking both to the ground in a daze.

The giantess, surrounded now by Kahru wielding Waythe and his wolves, chanted to Ogremoch and caused a ridge of rock to burst from the ground. It ran up hill, knocking Kahru and the nearest of his wolves back and away from her.

The last giant climbed up the southern cliffside and rushed toward Gimlak.

OOC: Colonel does 21 lightning to Solka & HG1; Doc puts down DW3; Gimlak did 28 psychic to HG1 & 14 to Solka (Legendary Resistance) Note: Silvery Barbs won't effect LR, as SB is a reroll & LR has no roll; Kahru summoned wolves who did 20 to HG1. HG1 did 36 to Karhu's wolf2. Varrg did 20 (& stunned!) both Kaligan & DW4. HG2 dashed up to Gimlak. Solka did 32 damage (Rippling Earth) to Kahru & his wolf1 who are thrown 10ft & knocked prone if they fail a dc14 DEX save.

They say lightning never strikes the same place twice. After falling form the sky right next to Solka, it does so again: the colonel, positioned behind the trees, nevertheless calls down from above another lightning bolt, that falls between Solka and the Hill Giant.

OOC: Action: call lightning on AB18 again (both HG1 and Solka are within 5'). DC 18 dex check or 4d10=25 lightning damage, half on save.

(Confirming that the damage from last round was taken off?)

Gimlak focuses his mind, and silently stares down the giant in front of him. He attempts to meddle with the brute's awareness of his surroundings.

OOC: Action: cast tasha's hideous laughter psionically using 1 spell point (no S & M required). WIS save DC 17 or affected. I'll need to know if the spell hits since this will impact the bonus action and reaction.

Failed!

Even as Kahru charged down towards the chanting giantess, he felt the rumble of the ground beneath his feet and his eyes went wide as a ridge of rock burst from the ground and slammed into him. Instinctively the barbarian pulled Waythe in protectively, looked about desperately and roared as both he and the nearest of his wolves was slammed back and flung away.
He landed heavily, rolling on the ground and would have been in pain, but for the hot rage surging in his blood as he struggled to get back upon his feet...

As the giant falls laughing, Gimlak moves closer to his companions moving through the brush.

OOC: I’m assuming difficult terrain to go through the trees. Move to G15 using his movement /2 so 10 ft plus telekinetic shove 5 ft on himself (bonus action).

Doc surveys the field with a chilling stare, seeing the stunned lil' doggie and the nearby Rustler from his vantage point. He fires a quick shot at the unaware varmint, sending along a screaming soul of the recently departed along with the bullet to torment the Rustler.

Then he moves quickly to a new shootin' point, noting that he is easily able to traverse the terrain, and concentrates his fiery enmity upon the Rustler before firing again.

Doc is shocked to see that he somehow missed the second shot. The puzzlement doesn't long, however, as Doc remembers ... A good carpenter don't blame his tools.
