More Giants.
Koldan growled under his breath while already moving forward, unslinging his crossbow and using the claw under his wrist to winch back the drawstring, all while whispering vows of enmity in Elvish under his breath. All of his sight was focused on that towering creature, that being that treated their lives as if ants under its massive boots.
Everywhere they went. He had seen Triboar, he had listened to his new companions and the Hill Giants they had somehow bargained with. But this ... This was slaughter. This was Triboar all over again.
" I'll handle the big one," Koldan declared to his allies,
" Safe to say they've found another Vonindod piece. Take to the others, save the townsfolk where you can."
With that, the eagle eyes of the hunter flashed with a golden glow, eyes narrowing to become hawk-like in their sheen. Everything around him went to greyscale, the color bleeding from the world while his focus sharpened on the Cloud Giant, preparing to bring it down. Dropping to one knee, Koldan recalled the teachings of his mentor, two additional bolts twirling into his fingers while the first was released. The muscles in his forearm burned as he latched the claw into the string of the crossbow and pulled it back again, the strain enough to break another man's arm, but not Koldan's.
Three shots in rapid succession sailed across the sky, seeking to fell a being who called that blue haven its home. But it was not home. This was the hard dirt, the realm of The Hunter. Small as he may have been in the face of such a large creature, Koldan knew its size mattered not, not down here.
The bigger they were, the harder they'd fall.
