Titus goes after the wounded owlbear with abandon. Something inside him, something dark and raging that has been trying to break free since he fought the goblins, takes over. He gives no quarter to the fleeing owlbear as he barrels down on it.

Owlbear2

Drui rushed around the cart and swung his hammer at the Owlbear that had bitten Angis, landing a solid blow.

Titus pushed his way through the underbrush, determined to finish the other Owlbear, who stood up as Titus lunged, coming short. Towering over him, it swiped one of its enormous paws at him, raking him across the chest and nearly throwing him to the ground. Then it was upon him, biting with its powerful beak.

GM: Damage: (BGs) Owlbear1: 7; (PCs) Titus: 15 & 8
(If unavoided, Titus is down!)

Rolls:
Owlbear2 Claw vs Titus
Attack: 1D20+7 = [12]+7 = 19
2D8+5 = [2, 8]+5 = 15

Owlbear2 Bite vs Titus
Attack: 1D20+7 = [11]+7 = 18
1D10+5 = [3]+5 = 8

(OOC: Fitz, if I get a subsequent action I'd like to follow up with a cure wounds on Titus. If not, I'll do it asap.)

Tommi loads a stone and slings it towards the wounded Ouwbear (2). He then withdraws in order to stay out of range, heading

At the sight of the owlbears, Tommi cups some stones in his hand, and blows into it, before loading one into his sling.

He's never seen an owlbear before -- though Lionel used always to describe one he once saw from his bedroom window. Tommi had never believed that, until now. The blending of feathers and fur was uncanny, and the fierceness of their beaks frightened him.

He steps forward and lets loose a stone.

OOC: Attack: vs. Owlbear. [roll0]. If a hit, damage - [roll1] (includes sneak attack, since there is an adjacent ally. EDIT: so a hit, but with minimal damage.)

Legend
Tommi

After bouncing a stone off of the owlbear's thick hide, hoping to distract it from murdering Titus, Tommi shuffled through the high grass on the side of the trail. (At least, he guessed it was a trail - it was clear enough for the cart, and Angis had been leading the group along it, though it was clearly seldom-used by any creatures that would wear it down, and hadn't been used by a cart in many decades, if not longer.)

The Elk

The creature that Tommi had seen use the trail jumped back, and then lowered its immense rack and rushed forward, attempting to maul the other owlbear. It did not manage to land a solid blow, but at least the owlbear let go of its crushing grip on Angis' arm, and turned to face the much larger creature.

Rolls: The Elk charge vs Owlbear1
Attack: 1D20+6 = [6]+6 = 12

Round 2

Angis staggered back a bit, shaking the feeling back into his arm. Well, then it was way too much feeling as pain exploded. He gritted his teeth and growled, gripping his axe. The arm still worked, but he was hurt badly, the handle of his axe slick with his blood. But Titus was down now, too! He was going to have to stay alive long enough to help the boy.

But first this owlbear needed putting down!

His first strike, however, missed completely as the elk’s attack intervened. Angis swung again, this time scoring a telling blow on the owlbear’s neck.
